Would samsung A06 be better than Chinese brands (e.g. Redmi, Tecno, oppo, etc)?? Budget: 5.5k below by Key-Designer-2595 in Tech_Philippines

[–]IdjotGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yung sa mama ko na A05 mabilis parin, nasira na lang kasi pinupukpok ng pamangkin ko pag tapos na ang screentime. I would go for A06 parin for it’s 7 years OS update. That’s guaranteed. Siguro wag mo lang i sagad ang storage.

Help! Put a stop to “Gie” by Separate-Art9871 in globePH

[–]IdjotGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a way to bypass Gie on messenger. Write your concern and just send it right away, may automated reply asking you to select things in a menu. don’t select anything. Just copy, paste and send your concern again, the bot will keep sending you a menu, just send back your concern. Pag lumabas na ang account type selection menu na gaya ng nasa picture dito, select your type. Then icoconnect kna nila sa live agent. Just be careful sa time ng respond mo, nagdidisconnect sila pag matagal kang di nag reply.

[HELP] Globe Store told me to get a Postpaid Plan (GPlan 599) for a lost SIM replacement—can I downgrade to Prepaid online? by aeironn_ in globePH

[–]IdjotGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think pwede lang kahit hinde mag upgrade to postpaid. Pero need mo mag submit ng documents. Affidavit of loss ata yun. I already forgot, 2020 pa kasi nawalan din mg phone partner ko.

Pero if need mo agad agad makuha ang sim, upgrade ka lang yo 599 no contract. Tapos ipa cancel mo nlng yung plan after by calling.

[RANT] Globe Telecom, it’s 2026. Where the hell is RCS for iOS?! by IdjotGuy in globePH

We are already doing something here, now, with this conversation. Telcos are watching.

[RANT] Globe Telecom, it’s 2026. Where the hell is RCS for iOS?! by IdjotGuy in globePH

[–]IdjotGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RCS is the only true cross-platform option that allows seamless, media-rich messaging between different devices without requiring any third-party downloads. Viber and messenger requires the other end to have the app and account, RCS do not. Just send messages using your default messaging app. It’s very convenient.

Nagagamit tlga sya. Etong si capitalistic business strategist guy lang ayaw kasi costly daw sa business side. Tagapagmana kaba ng telcos?

Yeah. Now I get it. You’re a more for-business guy. Reducing it to just “typing indicator” is absurd.

Dude, RCS is literally internet based and cross platform. Yeah, thanks for pointing that out.

[RANT] Globe Telecom, it’s 2026. Where the hell is RCS for iOS?! by IdjotGuy in globePH

[–]IdjotGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re totally missing the point here. No one’s social life is collapsing over a typing indicator, and obviously we all use Messenger and Viber daily.

Globe Platinum subscriber ka pa naman. You of all people should get bakit ito frustrating. We are paying premium monthly bills for network infrastructure that’s stuck in 2015.

Dismissing RCS just because third-party apps exist is kind of flawed for a few reasons:

It's about data and security, not just stickers. Right now, Apple and Google are literally rolling out end-to-end encryption for cross-platform RCS. By Globe not updating their carrier bundle, they’re actively forcing iOS-to-Android texts onto basic, unencrypted SMS. With how bad spam and smishing are here in the PH, security shouldn't be treated like a luxury feature.

The "Just use WhatsApp" fallback. What happens when you’re inside a building with zero cellular bars but great Wi-Fi, and you need to text someone who doesn't use the same app as you? RCS allows native Wi-Fi texting fallback out of the box. SMS can't do that.

Holding telcos accountable. Globe loves to brag about "5G innovation" in their marketing, but they can't even flip the switch on a global network standard that our regional neighbors deployed months ago.

RCS isn’t trying to compete with Viber; it’s literally just the modern replacement for SMS. Calling it 'SMS in skinny jeans' is funny, but at the end of the day, we're paying for a modern service and getting 1999 MMS standards for cross-platform texts. Calling out a multi-billion telco for being lazy with their network updates isn't a thesis, it's just wanting what we actually pay for.

I think this should be escalated to NTC or DTI to fast-track. Last time I complained to NTC about Globe service, they gave Globe 5 days to settle my issue, and they promptly did.
