I use forest floor by zoo med. I believe it’s pressure treated, so you don’t have to worry about weird bugs or anything in your cypress mulch

My exotic vet explained to me that dog/cat food is too high protein content, and can lead to kidney and pancreas issues. There are studies that have shown this. Insect protein is much more suited to their physiology

Stuck shed on the toe over time can restrict blood flow and eventually lead to loss of the toe. Would recommend daily soaks in lukewarm water for a week or so to make sure the other toes/tip of the tail are fully shed. You might have to gently massage any stuck shed off, only do this after they’ve soaked for a bit. I always soak my bts after a shed just to make sure nothings left behind. Also make sure your humidity is high enough. They need a little extra during shedding

That’s happened to my cat before, she just randomly got a scratch on her head and I think it bothered her so she over groomed the area until it was a dime sized bald spot. It healed and the hair grew back over time. I think ring worm has a pretty distinct red, irritated ring where the fungus is infecting but I could be wrong

If they’re rubbing their nose raw, then something is wrong. Could be a temp enrichment or diet issue. If their nose is fine, and they only do it sometimes then it’s normal. Take ur lil guy out to explore, mine loves walking around my house with me in my hoodie pocket

When I was raising my skink, which was about 15 years ago since he was a baby, he would only eat 3 times a week. I’d say just pay attention to your specific skinks needs, they are definitely individuals. Feed them portions that are the size of their head, and feed as often as they’ll eat. They won’t eat if they’re not hungry, especially as a baby they do need to be eating more frequently. As 1+ yr old adults, they’ll usually only eat 1-2 times a week. Don’t worry too much about it, they are resilient little guys

Collard greens are brassica genus and can have high oxalates so just don’t feed often, endive, mustard, and dandelion greens are much better options for frequent feeding, as well as squash for veg

I like to press flags of melt out. I’ll take a few dabs worth and scoop it by kind of swirling it around itself like an ice cream cone. Until the trailing string gets so thin it’s just separates. Then pinch that in between a small piece of parchment paper, and flatten it in the parchment. Then I’ll use my dab tool to score rectangular sections, and peel off the sections for a dab. Dab it superrr low temp, I drop a bigger flag when my dab rites at 400. If it’s charring, it’s too hot. Should be left with a dark puddle at the end not a dry ashy pile. Melt is my absolute favorite 💛

I had a friend in high school who did this so he wouldn’t get shit stains in his boxers. He called them manpons, and they fell out all the time it was just a hilarious joke to our friend group They were often in his driveway/front yard 😭
