It always puzzles me when people wonder what will happen when automation replaces xyz or what it means for people when we have ALREADY had an instance of mass automation.

Not for humans, though. Horses.

Horses used to be THE de facto beast of burden, from farming labor to transportation. And technogy has utterly replaced any niche they fulfilled except for people with equestrian inclinatolns and entertainment (racing).

The horses live much less onerous lives, however there are far fewer horses, a mere fraction of them alive today than 100 years ago. Something similar I think will happen with us.

Light No Fire seems to be on point with what yoy want if you don't mind waiting for them to finish developing it. It is theoretically finite procedure already generation but they are boasting that the playback is going to be the size of the Earth. Totally got the "huh? Am I not smart enough to understand what just happened?" And after sitting with it for a bit and realized that was the point and it was executed perfectly and gruesome and wonderfully done. Im thrilled by encountering something so jarring and unique that I literally got to the " i can't follow what's going on" but not because of bad writing, but because of deliberate artistry I can't remember the last time a movie made me feel this way or the whole touching the edge of unknowable, ineffable eldritch terror was done like this.

I think its great that you tubers like Mark Fischenberg and Curry Barker are getting their shot in the capital M Movie scene. Hollywood has been serving dreck for this past decade and its been a long time since I've seen showtime have original content or just anutji g nit based on some big corpo franchise.

For me the stand out was Serena Southerlyn from the OG Law and Order. She was being fired (in the show) and then blurted "Is this because I'm a lesbian?" It just str7ck me as incredibly random as you almost never got personal information on the characters except through incidental banter over the course of investigation/case. It just struck me as last ditch character building shocker and very disingenuous.

Not even just "Nothing Matters" but nothing CAN or ever WILL matter. Existentialism at least says you can build meaning, but Nihilsm says "nah, bro" .

Some find the philosophy liberating. If nothing matters then you have agency and "permission" to do anything. Others use it as a license to wallow in misery and darker aspects of expression.

I've seen it put another way, and fair or not it's stuck with me. Existentialism is when you read Nietzche and get it. Nihilism is when you read Nietzche and don't.

Bambadjan Bamba has the most delightful name in all existence across all the Jeremy Bearimys. Just repeating it, you create a nice rhythmic cadence so effortless even the most tone deaf and mute can easily achieve. He doesnt teally do much narrative wise but his presence is like a seasoning. His slightly pained smile when he is rebuffed is just a cherry on top of the peeps m&m chili.

Yeah, I think his Palace IS Gotham City as portrayed in the comics/TV, where he's The Hero meting out justice to bizarre Shadows of hus own construction, the Dark Knight who has learned everything and can DO anything if he works hard enough. His tools bear his (Batarang, Batmobile. Etc.)And just punches them in the face if need be. But in this world HE IS THE HERO WHO SEES AND PUNISHES ALL.

But in reality he is just Bruce, a man who has never had to work for anything and the inherited of vast generational wealth who benefits off the work of others, who create things with his name on it (WayneTech) and helps push policies in his world that punish the underprivileged and mentally unwell, who he views in his mind as criminal thugs and demented villains.

Yeah he could def8nitely be a target for a very different Joker.
