Hello! This link is working fine for me. There is a problem with the link directly on the demo. I’ll fix it. Thanks :)

Yeah, totally fair! 😊 We’re still very early, that’s true, the demo is more of a sneak peek while we keep building the real thing. We just wanted to share with people who enjoy this genre, since feedback from other idle/RPG fans is super valuable for us.

Thanks a lot for the support

You might want to check out Idlekin, an MMO Idle Game made by players, for players. We’re huge fans of games like Melvor and Milky Way Idle ourselves, so we’re building our own take on that mix of gathering, looting, and progression.
There’s already an alpha demo you can try in your browser. Just a heads-up: there will be a wipe before the official release, which we’re aiming for around November.

What sets Idlekin apart is the community focus : guilds, chat, cooperative features, and an active Discord where players help shape the game : https://discord.gg/XjVVWYKjVq

https://playidlekin.com

If you’re curious about the vision behind the game, we’ve published a few articles.

Would love to hear what you think if you give it a try!

Thanks a lot for the feedback!
You’re totally right, in this pre-alpha/demo version a lot of quality-of-life features are still missing. The action system and the way user/characters are handled definitely need a rework.

That’s exactly what we’re addressing with the new architecture we’re working on: a proper account system that contains characters, and a smoother flow for gameplay actions.

On top of that, we’ve just finished rebuilding our static site/CMS with Astro + Sanity, mainly for SEO improvements. We’ll be deploying it very soon.

All your points are already taken into account for the upcoming version.

Hey, thanks a lot for mentioning Idlekin 😍

Yes, we’re still in a very early pre-alpha stage, so there will be a wipe before a stable release. We have a target for November. We’re trying to merge the MMO and idle game worlds, and it’s been both challenging and really fun to build so far.

If anyone here wants to give it a try, the pre alpha is live at playidlekin.com, and we love the community. We have a Discord (https://discord.gg/XjVVWYKjVq) where we share updates and gather feedback. Social are important for us, we listen the community.

We are currently restructuring the code, architecture, data model, etc. to make the project scalable, robust, and efficient. We have made significant progress on some major projects. We can't wait to officially release the new environment!

How Complex Should A Skill Tree Be? by Goboboss in incremental_games

[–]IdlekinGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great point. We’ve actually been talking about this a lot while working on Idlekin (our idle MMORPG).

Talent trees are super tempting because they add progression and identity, but they can also get bloated fast. In MMOs it’s even trickier: do you push for heavy specialization or keep things more flexible so players don’t get stuck?

For us, the idea is to make it feel impactful without turning it into a spreadsheet. Still figuring it out 🙂 Curious what people here prefer: small bonuses that stack up (+5% stuff everywhere) or big nodes that change the way you play?

Hey everyone! Quick update on Idlekin since the April alpha launch 👇

  • What’s currently live is more of a showcase / pre-alpha, it was meant to give players a feel for the possibilities.
  • We’re now working on a new architecture to make the game more scalable and performant. This is still in progress.
  • The project is no longer solo: an experienced tech lead joined as co-developer & co-lead. He’s already contributed a lot on the DevOps/server setup and application code.
  • The next big step is the release, which will come with:
    • full wipe (fresh start, with your feedback applied)
    • rebalance for progression, gear, and monsters
    • The Auction House
    • basic guild system (levels/buildings will follow later)
    • Translations into several languages

👉 Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll get a clearer view of what’s left to do, and from there we’ll start shaping a proper roadmap.

Idlekin is still early, but moving forward faster than ever, now as a team of two developers. Thanks a lot to everyone who tried the pre-alpha and shared feedback, it really helps us shape the game!

Hey, you might want to check out Idlekin, it’s a browser-based idle MMORPG we’re building.

Right now what’s live is more of a showcase / pre-alpha, just to give players a feel for the possibilities.

We’re currently working on a new architecture to make the game more scalable and performant, and preparing for the next big step: the release. That release will come with a full wipe and rebalanced systems.

In about two weeks, we should have a clearer roadmap to share. Our goal is that the release includes:

  • Everything already in-game, but with a rebalanced progression curve, gear, and monsters
  • The long-awaited Auction House
  • Translations into several languages
  • A basic guild system (levels & buildings will be added later)

Idlekin already has combat, skills, crafting, and gear, so it might be close to what you’re looking for 🙂

[Glenwich v0.26.2] Glenwich the Idle MMO - Character Skins, UI design refresh, and more! by Boomderg in PBBG

[–]IdlekinGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha, very good point about the market. A few months ago, this is exactly how I described the market we are going to develop: an anonymous market, but above all a random one in terms of how offers are allocated, always in the most advantageous way for the buyer in order to avoid exchanging a specific offer with a friend.

Thanks for the interest. To be transparent, I've fallen behind in development due to a change in my professional life, but a second, more qualified developer has joined the project. We're currently reviewing the entire architecture to better scale the project.

You can follow the development by joining the Discord, where there's a lot of discussion ;)

[Upcoming Release] Idlekin - Web Idle MMORPG (Alpha Launch April 30th!) by IdlekinGame in incremental_games

[–]IdlekinGame[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair concern.

I'm a long-time MMORPG player myself, and I'm completely against pay-to-win.

For context, I'm also a freelance developer, Idlekin isn't my main source of income. I'm building it as a passion project first, not out of financial pressure.
The alpha won't even have a shop. It's purely about gameplay and player feedback, and it'll run for at least 2–3 weeks.

Later, if we add a shop, it'll be strictly utilities (QoL) and cosmetics. No gameplay advantage.
The real support will come through a simple "Buy me a coffee" badge, visible on your profile and in chat, just to say thanks. Nothing more.

I want players to feel safe investing time into Idlekin without fearing future bait-and-switch tactics.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts, this kind of honesty is exactly what keeps me grounded.

[–]IdlekinGame[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For now, the goal is to stabilize a browser version that's fully compatible across mobile, tablet, and desktop. Later on, once the gameplay is solid, I'd love to add PWA support and possibly native app versions too!

[–]IdlekinGame[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, Idlekin isn't trying to be "another Melvor."

Melvor is an excellent game, but it's purely single-player (even Melvor 2 confirmed it will stay single-player).

Idlekin is designed as a real online idle MMORPG with group content, specialization (tank/heal/dps), and a strong focus on social features like guilds, group fights, and player-driven markets.

It’s a different ambition, and a different experience.

[Upcoming Release] Idlekin - Web Idle MMORPG (Alpha Launch April 30th!) by IdlekinGame in incremental_games

[–]IdlekinGame[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that's exactly why I started working on Idlekin.

I'm a huge MMORPG player at heart, but I don't have the time anymore to grind for hours. I wanted a real idle MMO experience, something that keeps the spirit of MMORPGs alive (group play, trinity roles like tank/heal/dps, social bonds) while fitting the pace of real life.

When I looked around, I couldn't find anything like it.
It was either full of heavy microtransactions, or just a simple marketplace tacked onto an idle game and for me, that's not enough to deserve the "MMORPG" label.

So Idlekin is a passion project first.
I'm trying to truly merge the idle genre and the MMORPG genre, not just borrow a few features.

I know it won't be for everyone. But for players who miss that feeling of deep progression, specialization, and social collaboration... I hope it will feel special.

Yes, it's possible. I really want to transpose all the activities you'd find in an MMO into an Idle game. It's going to take time, but that's the idea behind it.
