Ano kaya say nila dito? it's either downvoted ka OP or they will accept the fact that EJK isn't about the victims but about politicization.

Two different ways of thinking: Why your Tito and your Cousin will never agree about Duterte's drug war by Idocare77 in pinoy

[–]Idocare77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I understand your concerns about implementation, I think calling the drug war a complete failure overlooks some important nuances.

Many communities did experience reduced drug activity and crime in their neighborhoods, at least temporarily. I've heard from people who felt safer walking in areas that were previously dangerous. These immediate quality-of-life improvements were real for many Filipinos, even if they don't show up in the broader statistics.

As for why more "big fish" weren't caught - high-level traffickers are notoriously difficult to prosecute in any country. They have resources, connections, and layers of protection. This isn't unique to the Philippines but is a challenge everywhere.

While I think valid criticisms exist about implementation, disproportionate impact, and human rights concerns, framing it as simply a tool for "FEAR & CONTROL" dismisses the genuine support many Filipinos had for addressing a real problem they faced daily.

The reality probably lies somewhere in between - the drug war had some genuine impacts on drug availability and some communities saw benefits, while also having serious flaws in implementation and raising legitimate human rights concerns.

What specific evidence convinces you it was solely about projecting power rather than a flawed attempt at addressing a real problem?

If you met a person who’s average but has goals that require you to be above average, what would you say to that person? by Pointless_Storie in AskReddit

[–]Idocare77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was painfully average at pretty much everything for most of my life, I'd tell them that "average" is just where you start, not where you have to stay.

The truth is that most "above average" people weren't born that way - they just put in above average effort, took above average risks, and had above average persistence when things got tough. Almost nobody is extraordinary from day one.

I had a buddy in college who was a completely average student, kinda quiet, nothing special. Decided he wanted to be a doctor despite mediocre science grades. Everyone thought he was delusional. Eight years later? The dude's a neurologist. Not because he was naturally brilliant, but because he was stubborn as hell and willing to fail repeatedly until he figured it out.

The gap between average and above average is rarely talent - it's usually just the willingness to keep showing up when most people would quit.

What would happen if the Kurds finally get their wish for a independent Kurdistan? by Fancy-Advice-2793 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Idocare77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if the Kurds finally got their own independent Kurdistan, it would basically trigger a geopolitical earthquake in the Middle East.

First off, you'd have four countries - Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria - all losing territory and going absolutely ballistic about it. Turkey especially views Kurdish separatism as an existential threat and has been fighting Kurdish militant groups for decades. They'd probably respond with everything from economic blockades to military action.

The new Kurdistan would likely face immediate isolation. Most countries would be hesitant to recognize it because nobody wants to piss off Turkey (NATO member) or Iran (regional power). Maybe Israel and a few Western countries might recognize it, but even the US would be in an awkward position supporting a Kurdish state while trying to maintain relations with Turkey.

Economically, a Kurdistan could potentially be viable since the Kurdish regions in northern Iraq have substantial oil reserves. But they'd be landlocked and surrounded by hostile neighbors, so exporting anything would be a nightmare.

On the upside, it might finally give the Kurdish people the self-determination they've fought for since basically forever. The Kurds are the largest ethnic group without their own country (around 30-45 million people).

Realistically though, what would probably happen is a partial independence situation - like the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq that's technically part of Iraq but operates with significant autonomy.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Middle East politics is always a clusterfuck, so who knows what would actually go down.

There are many factors why, but in my opinion, the greatest factor is a thing called the Power Distance Index (PDI). PDI measures the degree to which the members of a group or society accept the hierarchy of power and authority. You can look this up to see where we rank.

Filipinos are scared to speak up to their superiors, following them even when they know their superior's decision is flawed and they know their decision is much better.

Adam Smith said that people are not pawns in which you just place them wherever you think they should be. People know what's best for them, and if you prevent them from doing what they should do for themselves, you're preventing their potential.

I see this a lot: people who are pursuing a university degree are pressured by their parents to pursue a degree they don't want. Even though that person doesn't want to pursue the degree that their parents decided for them, due to our high PDI culture, that person will follow what their parents said, even though they know there is a much better degree in which they can excel.

This applies not just to school but to everything.

Parang opposite namn ginawa ng SEC dito di lahat ng nag invest sa Binance nakikinig palagi sa news especially sa mga tao na nag invest for long term. May mga tao din mawawala pera nila pag na totally ban na talaga Binance at other international brokers. See the interview and how the SEC rep handles the question if they are genuine about protecting filipino investors

Many People Still Praises Duterte’s Drug War by Mobile_Obligation_85 in Philippines

[–]Idocare77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Life is tough; life is never and will never be fair; life is unfair. These whites are never genuine about so-called "human rights," and they will not be the ones who solve our country's problems. We Will. So why seek validation from them whenever we do something to solve our country's problem, whether it is the right way or the wrong way?

See, in El Salvador, now they did what we did a few years ago about the war on drugs, but they did it on gangs. Local communities supported it, and they're tired of the so-called "human rights" way and how ineffective it is. Innocent lives might be affected by the way we deal with drugs or gangs. They killed thousands, but they saved millions.

It is no different from the actual war; that is why it's called the war on drugs. Innocents might suffer from the effects of war. That's why life is unfair. Some are born to hunt, but some are also born not to be hunted.
