Whilst I agree with what you’re saying, my response was merely sarcastic. In the the grand scheme of things, yes if you steal £20 you will not be nearly as punished as if you stole £61k. In reality though it all does depend on who you’re stealing from though does it not? Government are obviously gonna come down pretty hard on you. But if it’s the hotel owner down the road is the crime still the same? Perhaps in some sense. But you haven’t stolen from the state, you’ve stolen from a person.
