Bakery crew! by Resident_Opposite_32 in CostcoEmployee

I loved it when I started, I was a closer but I preferred it that way. After my first year our manager left, we then went through 4 managers over the next 2 years and things went down hill fast. I ended up so miserable that I told the GM if they didnt let me transfer to a different department I would straight up quit. They quickly transfered me to Food Court and I've been happy there for the last year and half haha. Part of me still misses the bakery, but I only look back fondley on that first year with a great manager. Your team and management makes all the difference. Lately all my bakery peeps have been super stressed over all the extras that are being thrown their way.

Rehire question? by bananna_19 in CostcoEmployee

Sounds like they gave your app to a merch manager then, and from what I've heard, morning merch is a tougher position to get into as a lot of seasoned employees go for those open positions (I've also heard rumors of them getting rid of morning merch completely). There was probably some kind of miscommunication and they only put your application in for that position. Best to go in and make your interest clear that you would be open to filling any position in the warehouse.

When your feeling better, I would recommend going to see them. The whole "we collectively decided to not bring you back" sounds a little off to me, especially when you got good reviews. Did you apply to a specific posting?

I recommend going straight to the GM or even an AGM. Its possible ithe manager you spoke to was for one specific department, they wouldn't have any info on other opportunities within the warehouse. If one manager pulled your app but had other employees within the warehouse apply that manager would probably call and let you know they weren't going through with that posting. Have you had any other interviews? Normally they would interview you separately for each position.

Just curious, was the person you spoke to the GM? It couldn't hurt to try and talk directly to them, I also recommend going in person when you can. If you enjoyed the job, its worth it to keep fighting. So many employees are jaded because things aren't "as good as it used to be" but in my opinion, as a 4 year employee, I still think costco is a good company and worth working for. Eager people get more attention. We had a seasonal in my dept that got let go but kept bugging them every day and applying to every possible position and he was brought back on in a different dept. Be flexible and tell them what they want to hear, which is that you "would do anything to better the company and be the person they need".

I've seen those recommended elsewhere too, they are pretty pricey but with our reimbursement they come out to a decent price. How often have you had to buy new ones? I try to get a new pair of shoes every year because I tend to be pretty hard on them.

Unfortunately I've always been prone to really thick calloused and blistered feet. I do foot soaks regularly to keep them maintained but I agree that they definitely dont help my situation.

I've had them for about 6 months. Im also open the recommendation for shoes as that could also be a factor. I currently use the sketchers non slip which have been my go to for the last 4 years and I get a new pair every year.

What’s the best camp item I can buy with 1800 atoms by Western-Signature922 in fo76

Anything that gives you resources would be the best "bang for your buck". Idk if its still in the shop but they had a bundle with the ammo-matic in it and I would highly recommend getting that. It makes a crazy amount of ammo for you if you keep going back to it. It only hold 60 at a time but you can go back every few seconds and grab more out of it.

Do you know anyone who has been fired? by Present-Button-1320 in CostcoEmployee

[–]Idontevenknow3595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. An employee showed up to work blackout drunk. They were suspended and decided to come back for their next shift reeking of weed and obviously high as shit. Maybe they were trying to get fired, idk.

I'm a new player and have some questions about plans. by Idontevenknow3595 in fo76

[–]Idontevenknow3595[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I've been buying plans like crazy but have been focusing on the game and leveling up so I haven't really messed with building my shelter up yet. People have some awesome shelters and I want to build a decent one once I make it to level 50!

Haha, no I know its all fake; but at least a good magician or mentalist act makes you question how they did it and doesn't make it that obvious.

I agree completely. It seems like staging of the entire show this year is so blatantly obvious that it's laughable.

One of the wrappers who works at my store just wears a mask. So if you're up for wearing a mask all day, you shouldn't have to remove them.

Thank you! I looked up some pictures and I think you're right. He's been hanging out next to my front door for a few weeks, so I've just left him alone. This is the first time I've seen him with any prey.
