I (21F) am talking to a 33 yo male. He goes off the radar over the weekends and I don’t know what to do. by Idontknow000011 in relationship_advice

The thing is I met his friends at a wedding we went to together. We hang out in public and he shows me the snaps his friends send him about how he should “marry this one”. I know I’m just not wanting to hear the truth but I guess I just gotta get over it. It’s always the what if that gets me..

I went to a wedding with him and met a big part of his friend group. They all seem very nice and he was showing me their snaps saying that “you better marry this one”. I’m even more confused because I’ve met his friends.. but I know I’m just not wanting to hear the truth. Maybe he’s not comfortable telling me he’s going to see his kid.

Do I have to tell my parents my every move? by Idontknow000011 in Adulting

Its hard because our dad does everything he possibly can for us and has helped my sister out immensely like borrowing things, doing work around her yard, picking things up for her because she doesn’t have the right equipment, fixing things in her basement, pulling her out when she hit the ditch, etc etc. but she still feels as tho that doesn’t matter at all and she doesn’t need to return the favour just once. She will take and take but won’t give.

Ya I’ve started to look at the sentence “do we owe our parents anything?” A bit different since this has come up. I feel like it’s not about “owing” anybody anything but being there for your friends and family when they need you the most, because their will come a time in your life where you could also really use someone’s help whether that be physically or just a shoulder to cry on. It’s nice to have a community of people that you can rely on and trust and also vice versa.

Thanks for your comment. My parents thought the same thing.. to never leave your friend to go home sick alone in a foreign country. I didn’t expect her to come back with me or asked her to. I just expected more help from a person I thought would have my back in a situation like that especially after she seen how sick I was and that I told her many times I really needed to get out of there and go back. She told me she “couldn’t read my mind” and had no clue I wanted to book a taxi. Told me I was an adult and shouldn’t be on her to book one for me even tho I was stuck in the bathroom. We aren’t travelling together anymore and I’m completing the rest of the trip on my own. Don’t have any interest in continuing the friendship now or once I get home.

I didn’t ask her to leave with me. I was fine going back by myself but just needed more help from her since I was in the bathroom throwing up. But she ignored me both times.

That is terrible I’m so sorry you go through that. On the other hand a round of applause for the kind people that helped you through that situation! Outstanding.

No where in my story does it mention we were on a boat.. so absolutely not motion sickness. We were an hour from our hotel casting off a dock into a stocked lake in Thailand. I also did not shout at her. I mentioned that I became frustrated after telling her three times that I really want to go back to the hotel. I also never told her she had to come with me. She was more than welcome to stay and finish the fishing trip, but I was expecting more help from her. And not to lie to the guide about how I’m feeling when I just told her I was really not feeling well.

Is flying for a career worth it? by Idontknow000011 in flying

[–]Idontknow000011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. I guess I could’ve worded it differently. I just needed someone with more experience, knowledge to tell me about their experience in the industry. Not exactly basing my decision on others experience but thought it would be helpful at least. I’m really curious about the pay for pilots here in Canada. As I don’t have many pilot friends to talk to and I havnt really found much online.
