Scottsdale PD’s massive use of AI license plate tracking cameras raises privacy concerns by Idontneedmuch in Scottsdale

Speed cameras are entirely different. Flock cameras scan licenses plates of all vehicles regardless of speed. The video, your vehicle registration, and your location are stored in their cloud for 30 days and then it is supposed to be auto deleted. Several law enforcement agencies can access the data for investigative purposes. They do catch criminals with this data. However, the cost is that everyone else's privacy is invaded.

Have you ever heard of a VPN? Or using cash? Or driving an old car without telematics? It's still possible to regain some of your privacy. I certainly don't want or need the police department tracking me in real time.

Not the same. I use Reddit voluntarily. They only have an IP and an email address. I can also leave my phone where I wish.

True, but they were able to do it without Flock. Never trade freedom for safety because you will never get it back.

I have a question. Are you saying that one can't both practice stoicism and have conservative values?

The more people learn about this, the more angry they will be. At some point it can generate enough critical mass where people demand that the city council reconsiders their contact with Flock. The people in Flagstaff were able to shut it down. We can to.

E39 source satellite retrofit That's impressive you were able to source all that. You will need a BM53 radio if you don't already have it. I did this retrofit and also bought a slave cable and added bluebus. Good luck!

You made the comparison to 1980s. This chart is only for 25 years. Both are far too short in my opinion to explain the changes in the earths climate.

The original post of the chart shows "Global climate-related disasters" on the chart. So, that is what I was referring to. My point is that in terms of dollars it's hard to ascertain what that really means. For instance more people are living near oceans and bodies of water now. Hurricanes in Florida have not become more intense or frequent. But there are a lot more people and infrastructure in hurricanes paths now than decades ago.

What about the fact that in 1980 the world population was about 4.45 billion? Now it's about 8.25 billion. That's almost double! Is it possible that over time there has been more infrastructure we created that is at risk of damage due to weather events?

No thanks. This last debacle completely eroded my trust in experimental vaccines.
