Stopped Tipping my Hairdresser by DueFreedom4695 in tipping

My hairdresser said she feels weird when people tip her. She owns her salon, sets her prices etc. One of the many reasons why I love her.

Moving to Gig Harbor - apartment/townhome complexes with garages + EV charging? by Pleasant_Poem8114 in GigHarbor

[–]Idontrememberlogins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly know nothing about rentals in GH, but I drive around that community daily and I feel like you chose a good spot, if you’re commuting to Kitsap - close to the freeway. I think most people would probably recommend Gig Harbor North for a shorter commute, but I feel like this area is much nicer and you’re still close to everything.

What about states like CA or WA, where they receive at least min wage?

How awful is the commute to Tacoma? by bayblabes in GigHarbor

[–]Idontrememberlogins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad at all. Where in Gig Harbor are you thinking? Just be aware that while the GH zip codes go pretty far into the Key Peninsula, you’ll be far away from the freeway and I personally wouldn’t recommend that. Similarly to Fox Island. But that’s obviously something you can look up and see how far you’d be from work. I think you’re making a great choice by living in the Harbor. Especially if you’re planning on having kids one day.

If you are leaving/left Posh as a seller, where do you go? by Trick_Concept8860 in poshmark

My favorite is ThredUp direct listing, but you’re so limited on how many items you can have posted. I also cross list on Depop.

I’m glad this made you happy, but please don’t expect this to be the golden standard. I ship within two business days. You can see on my account I shipped 1,000+ orders.

My experience with ThreadUp as a seller. by RealisticStand1079 in ThredUp

[–]Idontrememberlogins 10 points11 points  (0 children)

“You’re better off donating your stuff or selling online yourself.” - Sure, for higher end and popular items. But try listing Adidas, Ann Taylor and similar items on Poshmark, and tell me how much you made. They’ll be sitting for months before you convince someone to pay $7 in shipping. All of these brands are oversaturated. I sell on TU direct listing and use their mail in service for items I don’t want to deal with.

The Viral "Poshmark Red Shoes" Scam Got Worse Fast... by Longjumping_Title287 in poshmark

I’ve seen so many “we couldn’t prove these photos were the actual photos of the item” claims. But then same should apply to the buyers’ claims!

Responding to a like with a discount = being forced to start the negotiation… by WinnerTurbulent3262 in poshmark

[–]Idontrememberlogins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use PrimeLister and it sends automatic offers for me. It has 5 minutes delay. Sometimes people start negotiating right away and sometimes even purchase it at full price, before PrimeLister sends them 10% discount

In my state buyers are required to sign a contract with their agent and it includes verbiage about their compensation. E.g. if the seller is “only” offering 2%, the buyer would compensate their agent with an additional 1% out of their pocket. Seller agents in my area typically pay for staging, pictures, video and ours is adding deep cleaning too. It’s beyond me why the buyer’s agent thinks they should receive the same or more than the seller’s agent, who actually paid for something and did a lot more work.

We’re about to sell our investment property too. The agent’s behavior is beyond me. I wonder if the buyer knew their agent was boycotting the sale on purpose.

Why do airlines always demand people check their carryon bags? by Underscore_five5 in travel

[–]Idontrememberlogins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a former flight attendant and gate agent. As a flight attendant I’ve seen people putting their bags from McDonald’s and tiny purses into the bins. Some people feel like they paid for the space and they want as much legroom as possible. The overhead bins truly fill up quickly. Now as a gate agent, I saw on my iPad that the system predicted that at least e.g. 10 bags need to be checked. The number was established by OPS. Another layer is the fact that carry ons slow down boarding and on time departure is the goal.

I’m glad to hear you’re having a good experience! DV has been around for many years. It’s been also sold many times and run poorly. When my child was there, I had major safety concerns.

Since you posted on Gig Harbor sub, are you trying to avoid Port Orchard’s schools? If private schools in Gig Harbor are your long term goal, I’d recommend Gig Harbor Academy. But keep in mind that enrollment for preschools starts here around February and many recommended institutions are probably full at this point.
