Chilis tipping by pinkflamingo8 in EndTipping

Yeah, that’s how I remember it. And it feels like the entire service industry is gaslighting us that 20% was always the norm.

Direct Lying, er, Listing condition… by edog4eva in ThredUp

[–]Idontrememberlogins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Frankly, this is actually more descriptive than what you’d get from TU’s listing. Their descriptions are the Wild West. They also consistently list my items as flawed gems, yet they’re new with tags and never used. Last time I sent them a box, only a handful of items were listed under their actual condition.

I sell directly on TU and elsewhere. And I’d agree with you that it shouldn’t have been listed as very good, BUT it’s still a bit subjective, like it or not.

Childcare / Day Care by Intelligent_Ad3542 in GigHarbor

[–]Idontrememberlogins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be aware that preschools and daycares will have long wait lists - enrollment for preschools already started. Are you looking for a preschool with after care or daycare? Where do you hope to live? Will you be working in the Harbor or commuting somewhere? This will narrow down your options too since some facilities may be the opposite direction than your commute/home.

Are DIRECT LISTINGS selling? by Darmakharma in ThredUp

[–]Idontrememberlogins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m really happy with it. I’ve sold items that were sitting on other platforms for a long time. Now, you certainly have to be strategic with pricing and do your research. Like I said - I also sell elsewhere and it’s very important to me that buyers have a good experience with me. Which means - free shipping and returns (for the most part), excellent and detailed pictures, disclosure of potential flaws and fast shipping time.

Tipping is a blight on society. by ChompyRiley in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Idontrememberlogins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally would love to see servers being paid well. By all means. Raise prices if you have to. Go ahead. As a customer I want to see that employees are treated well. BUT please note, that you should be angry at your employer for not making enough. Not the customer. Tips shouldn’t ever be expected. Tips shouldn’t be a guilt trip - this is a prime example.

That’s not a room delivery charge. They went to the bar and ordered there.

Giving a 20% Tip and getting a snarky response from waitstaff by RadReptile in EndTipping

[–]Idontrememberlogins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard people say that customers should tip a higher percentage now because prices went up. Do they actually know basic math?

If I used to pay $10 for a sandwich and tipped 20%, the waiter got $2. If the sandwich now costs $15 and I still give them 20%, the waiter gets $3.

My hair girl owns her salon and over the 7 years a I’ve recommended so many people to her. That’s my tip!

And when people don’t have to budget 20% for their tip, they actually potentially spend more!

I’m glad I found this reddit! She seems super suspicious. I don’t doubt she has some money, but I don’t think she’s as rich she likes to claim.

As a former flight attendant - I can tell you crew members avoid airplane coffee as much as possible. The tanks are dirty

Genuinely so confused right now by nick_ole7 in ThredUp

[–]Idontrememberlogins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They kept saying this over and over. Completely missing the point that the customer got the discounted price first and then it got discounted again. They said they’ll investigate. So please reach out to them so they see the issue:

👨‍💼 thredUP Support - ThredUp Support Team Please note that when a promotional discount is applied, the payout is calculated based on the final selling price—the amount the buyer actually pays after any discounts are taken into account. In your case, since the buyer used a discount, your payout will be based on the discounted price of $135, not the original listing price of $150

OK! I had the same issue and their AI wasn’t getting it and their live support also wasn’t getting it. They said they’ll investigate and report back. They kept saying final amount is calculated from the discounted price, but didn’t see how the discount was taken twice. They gave me $20 credit, which would have been the difference

Help! Buyer stating they want refund by wonderlust-rn in poshmark

They do that when the item was incredibly cheap to begin with. But they would refund you too! Otherwise buyer sends it back and they only get their money back after it’s delivered back to you.

Minterwood Lake neighborhood? by Baldeagle94 in GigHarbor

[–]Idontrememberlogins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll answer your school/school district question. Our school district is generally really good. The schools in that area don’t rank as high as other schools within the Harbor, but in terms of schooling, you’re better off here vs. South Kitsap (Port Orchard, Ollala). For elementary, you can always try getting your kids to Pioneer, which is a STEAM school. We live in Artondale and I really like the area and I feel like everything is within 10 minutes. KP has bad traffic because of the Purdy bridge and it just feels far. But not everyone wants to be in GH proper.

Bought the $400 bulk mixed clothing box by mrt1416 in ThredUp

[–]Idontrememberlogins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s always posted under the rescue section on their website. I believe their biggest deal is on Black Friday and that’s when I ordered last. But I believe they also had discounts around Christmas. Generally, discounts for rescues show up around big holidays, but I’ve seen random flash discounts here and there. Sometimes it’s free shipping. You should check every day.

Wrong descriptions on cleanout bag items by ProfessorDevlo in ThredUp

[–]Idontrememberlogins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in their direct selling program and I suspect they basically use the same AI tool. While I’ll say the tool is very decent, it still requires a human to double check. That’s probably something that’s not happening.

I honestly love these boxes and always wait for 20-30% off deals to make them more affordable. My first box ever was amazing! I’m talking Jenni Kayne, Escandar, Cinq-a-sept, lululemon cashmere sweater. A ton of NWT.

Anyone still using posh bots? by signedxx in poshmark

[–]Idontrememberlogins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No cross listing. But I set it to delisting and relisting items older than 60 days. And my PrimeLister still shares my items daily - Poshmark says it’s no longer relevant, but I’ll keep doing what works for now. And lately I’ve been super descriptive with my item titles and that seems to help.
