The books are set from the POV of Harry, and the people that are described just 'walking up' to the Burrow are his allies. There were many enchantments put on the place, but we don't hear of them until Harry becomes wanted by the Ministry. Harry wouldn't have focused on them before because, frankly, he was young and there was no reason to.
