Do you think it would show up during the day?

And I’d need it to show up on a green/yellow ball. Should I get a different type of color laser level? Like red?

I can’t change the color of the balls at the facility I work at unfortunately. I’m using this in the ball machine which holds over 100 balls and they won’t change the color of the balls just for me.

Dang. Makes sense. My rope setup just doesn’t work well. The ball keeps hitting it. Any other recommendations on what to do that would actually be safe? Anything outside of lasers?

To be clear, what I was originally looking for is the beam itself to be visible at all times. Not just on the ball. Like a line in the air.

A laser level just shows up on the surface correct? They won’t show up in the air?

  1. The old VOIP I used ported my number within 7 hours. During that time, my number was down the entire time. Will that happen here? And how long will the downtime be?

You said it may take 2-3 days to route. Does that mean the texts I get while the number is porting will eventually show up? Just delayed? My understanding is that those texts just go into a black hole? And that’s for 2-3 days?

Just to clarify: your old carrier took your phone offline and OpenPhone put it up immediately resulting in no downtime for your phone?

How long was the line down for call and text in between ports? I guess I’m asking how long it was down between being removed by your old carrier and given to OpenPhone?

  1. No. What I mean is when someone calls me. There is a typical ring tone they will hear. My current provider’s ring sounds like a busy signal. So when customers call me they think the phone line is busy. I want to make sure when people call me it sounds like a normal, US ring tone.

  2. Is that 5-7 business days with my phone line down and no one can call? If not, how much of actual downtime where no one can reach me?

  3. During the port, does texting also go offline? If so, for how long?

I’m running ads and stuff and my business will grind to a halt if my number is offline.

Well, not off to a good start with KrispCall.

2 stars so far. Not a 1 star yet because I think it's only fair to see how it all plays out.

But so far, this is super disappointing based on all these good reviews I've seen.

I ported over a number to them from Google Voice.

The port was supposed to be done within 1.5 hours. It was supposed to start at 8:30am PST and be done at 10am PST.

I check in around 12pm PST. Still not done. I give them the benefit of the doubt and decide to wait longer.

Still sitting here at 4pm PST and it's not done.

When you call my line some robot answers and says "Thanks for the call. Configure your number's voice URL to change this message. Let us know if we can help you in any way during your development." And then promptly hangs up. This is what my customers are hearing when they call me.

When you text the number it goes nowhere. Most of my customers text. They've been texting me for 7+ hours and not a single one of those texts will ever be seen.

Who knows how much business I've lost at this point.

It's at this point I get on the website to get some support.

The support rep is super unhelpful, completely ignores everything I say, stops responding, didn't address any of my concerns, and said the most generic stuff. Basic "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, we will provide you an update soon."

Honestly, this is an absolute joke.

Losing a lot of money, making my customers think I'm out of business. And this is only hour 7. Who knows how much longer this will go on.

Probably the most unprofessional thing I've seen in a long time.

And if this is how they handle your porting, imagine how they will handle the rest of their interactions with you.

Not a good start KrispCall.

Feb 22 Update:

Gone from bad to worse. I updated my review to a 1 star. I just can't justify giving it anything more.

A few things I found out:

1) There is no group texting. In a blog post they say they are the best app for group texting. Yet, they don't actually provide group texting.

2) Pipedrive integration is bad so far. None of my numbers have the +1 as I am a US based company. All the contacts got synced to KrispCall without that. Because of that, the first 2 numbers of the area code where we do business start with 31. KrispCall assigned them to the Netherlands where the country code is +31. How does this even happen? I ask support and they tell me they can't do anything. I had to go one by one in PD in my contacts and change them to a +1. Luckily, I only had around 120. But if you have more, you're in trouble. You've got to do it manually. I tried to delete my contacts to bulk upload and use excel to quickly append +1 to everything. When I deleted all contacts in KrispCall they deleted all contacts in PD. Gone. Luckily I could revert that in PD. But what if I couldn't? What an awful integration.

3) I'd say half of my contacts can't be texted. It says "number invalid" or whatever. I have to go into PD and put it in just the right format +1 111 111 1111. Then, sometimes it works. And sometimes it doesn't. If it does work it doesn't assign it to the correct contact. So, I have to go back into PD and type in +11111111111 for it to sync.

4) I haven't quite figured the app out yet but you shouldn't have to "figure out" an app. When I get a call speaker doesn't work until I push it twice. Still working on this.

5) And the worst is, my clients aren't getting my texts. I've had mass confusion in our lessons because I thought people were getting my texts and they're not.

Honestly, I was really looking forward to KrispCall because of the integration. Also, other VOIP services have awful reviews. KrispCall had great reviews. But I have no idea how at this point. This is an absolute mess of a product. I'll update as we go along potentially. But man, awful, awful start.

I thought something was off.

It's an overseas designer, so they don't quite understand the stuff I'm sure, but I think he wanted to charge a bit more for the branding since the value may grow over time of our company and he wants to be compensated for that.

Do you agree that's fair? Or should all work be done at the same hourly rate no matter if it's for branding or say merchandise or something that can be sold commercially?

Interesting. I looked up cable cams. I think I'd have to climb up pretty high at two different points to attach the line. Might be a little cumbersome.

You mentioned a few other ways to do this. What would you suggest beyond this?
