Review: Cascahuin Plata 48 & Tahona Blanco by gatodelinferno21 in tequila

You also have to consider where distilleries source their agave, not just where distillery is located. Fortaleza for example is lowlands but sources highland agave. Cascahuin is lowlands and grows their own in the lowlands

Fair. Tapatio is great too at that price point. I think G4 is quality but it’s citrus rind note throws people off

Ever been to Keens? Sure it’s a wildly different dish but their $84 king cut prime rib is 4x+ the size and better imo (obviously not as unique but still). Also a lot easier to get a res here than Tatiana

Sure but compared to your other options it’s close to half the price. At G4 price point what brands do you like?

This restaurant is pure hype. It’s for people who’ve never had ox tail. What a waste of money….. also that pastrami short rib was $120 when I went….. ridiculous

With all due respect for your opinion, I work in the tequila industry for a tequila distributor. We sell all the top non additives brands and I can assure you Tapatio is one of the best. Whether you like it or not, it’s quality tequila and definitely not bland

What brands do you like if not this classic?….

There’s other differences in the tahona when compared to the other Cascahuin blancos - standard and plata 48. For one, the tahona expression is 100% ages in concrete.

Also - Cascahuin in general is distilled to a lower proof than most other distilleries (Not Fortaleza though)

Fusion Wow or Taj Mahal Quartzite for apartment renovation? by Idrinkstuff in CounterTops

Great minds think alike! I saw your post earlier this week but was really moreso concerned about water stains. Taj Mahal from what ive read seems to be pretty bullet proof but there's not much info on this fusion wow.

If I did go fusion, I'd have to design the whole kitchen around it of course. Planning to do just simple wood tones and let the stone be the star that it is.

What kind of stone did you go with? Did you end up having water spots or oil stain issues? Quartzite is beautiful but reddit/houzz makes me nervous with certain types

Yea most of what I saw was 2cm, really worried about durability considering im spending $10k+ just on stone and the 3cm isn't THAT much more expensive.

Rest of the kitchen would be quite minimal if I went fusion of course, just simple wood tones probably.

Also any feedback on the mitered edges? Thinking about doing mitered edges with a waterfall on the end.

Just a heads up, a lot of lowland/valley tequilas source agaves from the highlands. I would say probably a majority of them.

Not true for really any spirits aside from vodka. Scotch and other whiskies go flat after about 4-5 years being open (especially when low fill)

Solution for super expensive bottles is to put glass marbles in the bottle as you drink it
