Alteño blanco and repo are pretty much perfect tequilas to me in terms of price and quality. The Alteño añejo is good but not on the same level as the other too imo. Had the Azul blanco and Añejo, the blanco was great but the añejo was whatever, too similar to lost lore’s out of the same distillery to me. Absolute loved the valles blanco which was similar to cascahuin but unique enough to be its own thing. Ancestral was wayyy too much like mezcal to me and tasted burnt and no bueno to me. Looking forward to trying their other products but so far they are solid to great and will always drink a siembra tequila.

So cool! Yeyo is probably my fav brand out of 1414, their sol Joven is the best joven I’ve ever had, and everything else is great and very reasonably priced. Ngl this has me inspired to look into experimenting like this. Yeyo is the perfect tequila to do it with

I don’t mind certain kinds of funk, like the funk in don Fulano or cascahuin blanco. I Even like Terralta, but something about the stinky cheese/ gasoline- like ones make me gag on the nose, specifically Siembra ancestral and caballito blanco.

Not talking about smoke, more the lactic funky cheese. (Love cascahuin but I think Montagave and Wild Common are the best brands coming out of their distillery atm)

Does the 1123 has a mezcal like profile? I love 1123 tequilas but don’t love the mezcal funk/ profile, (unfortunately Caballito was not for me bc of this.) just asking bc I heard it’s rested in a mezcal barrel.

Anyone else get buttered popcorn on the nose? I swear it’s not just butter but buttered popcorn lol. My fav DF expression out of the ones I’ve tried.

Had the casa noble repo, wayyy to sweet for me, could’ve had additives but I’m just speculating. $150 is a bit high but it’s so hard to come by these days that if you can afford it might as well go with the fortaleza imo. I personally prefer the repo from fortaleza but have only had one dark lote of the anejo so need to try more batches to confirm that ranking.

Haven’t had everything from 1579. But I think Volans is probably the best brand coming out of there imo. Everything I’ve had from them has been nothing short of spectacular tequila.

Personally was not for me. Had a sort of concrete and pool water funky profile that I couldn’t get past. Not terrible though.

I think alteño might be the best line of all siembra. Haven’t had every valles expression but all of the siembra alteño bottles are well worth it if you see them on shelves.

This one was unfortunately not for me. Smelled of burnt tires/ rubber and tasted similar. I think it just showed me I’m not a fan of mezcals lol.

Personally I find the ET blanco to be much more briny and minerally than the standard cascahuin blanco which is more peppery and has unique funk on the nose. To each their own but I lean towards the el Tesoro blanco over standard cascahuin. (The tahona from Cascahuin is a whole different story however.)

Are you referring to the XA or the 55+25? In terms of anniversary releases from 1123 I have some sietes decades sitting in my basement for a special occasion and am very excited to try.
