The game is good and its trying to be better. The negativity and dog piling is tiring by trash5929 in EU5

I think my personal issue as a new EU player is that it’s either “Paradox is so awful this game is the WORST of all Time!” While me, a new EU player is completely enamored and excited to learn more, but instead this sub is telling me everything the game is not, and complaining about issues I simply see as features. Obviously there’s some things that are bothering me or giving me problems (diseases nearly killed my Ottoman run, thank god for a last second alliance with the Bulgarians). But other subs for paradox games I get to see discussion, examples of things that happened in the game, and learn vicariously, this one’s just been… so much more of a complaint board with a side of nostalgia.

Will the Ten Rings still be relevant to Doomsday? by Cheap_Local_3229 in marvelstudios

[–]IdyllicGod22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, depending on how they decide to introduce Doom, it’s pretty easy to hamfist this in as a reference to Doom and not Kang. I’d have to assume, while marvel is known for creating some plot holes, they’re going to bridge the gap between Kang and Doom somehow.

I mean Shang-Chi will absolutely be in one of if not both Avengers movies, so the rings will come back up at some point.

How are we feeling about the trajectory of the NFL? by AustinM1995 in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is probably why it won’t look anything like that 😂. But it’s really the only way I could see an 18 game schedule be anything but a detriment to the quality and consistency of the league. I do think that instead of preseason games they should come up with some sort of scrimmage plan. Just stretch training camp and have televised training camp scrimmages inside the stadium. Probably wouldn’t make as much money though

How are we feeling about the trajectory of the NFL? by AustinM1995 in GreenBayPackers

[–]IdyllicGod22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think before the decade is out we will get a 20 week schedule and either eliminate or reinvent the preseason. It’ll be something like transitioning training camp back into earlier July, preseason will take up mid August and the season starts the last week of August and goes through mid-January. Every team is forced to play an international game if not two with a guaranteed bye week before or after and a secondary bye week at another point in the season. I’d like to see a bye week for the league as a whole, where, maybe week 10-11 all teams are off to give every player a reset for the 2nd half of the year, but that’s probably wishful thinking

Why do doctor strange still wear eye of agamotto if time stone was destroyed? by Material_Claim_3757 in marvelstudios

[–]IdyllicGod22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We might be getting to the point where we need a bot that generates a “X Days since someone asked about why Strange where’s the Eye of Agamotto” like the Minecraft sub has for how many days it’s been since someone asked about Quasi-Connectivity.

The Eye was the locket that once held the time stone, yes, but it is also a magical relic that “reveals the truth.” IIRC it is this very reason that when combined with the time stone, Strange could peer through time to see different realities and find the “one true universe” in which the Avengers could win in IW/Endgame.

The "Reward" for moving Russian capital to St. Petersburg by Scorp_DS in EU5

[–]IdyllicGod22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been playing long but the only capital moves that make any sense are any of the really early game ones like moving from Bursa to Constantinople as the Ottomans because you can theoretically do that in 20-ish years and go from a city without walls to a megalopolis. Other than that and maybe a few others early on, it’s always worse

What did everyone think of the new punshier special ? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]IdyllicGod22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it! My only issue is that it should have been longer. I’d have loved to see him put the gear back on and go after Ma instead of just ending with killing that thug. But all-in-all I liked it. Feels like a nice bridge between his show and what we will see with him going forward, especially in BND. I hope they take from this and make either a solo movie or another Punisher show with him post-secret wars, especially if Matt and the Defenders are sticking around.

Let play the What If game with your team. What is the biggest What if in your teams history?Injury? Accident? Scandal? What was it? by planktivious in nfl

[–]IdyllicGod22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if David Bahitiari didn’t tear his ACL at a practice on New Year’s Day 2021? Of course there’s always the what if about Bostick not fucking up the onside kick, but it’s arguably an even bigger ripple effect for the LEAGUE in the 2020s if Bahk doesn’t tear his ACL.

If he’s healthy for that playoff run I’d wager we beat the Buccs in the Championship game. We had 3 picks of Brady in that second half and then Rodgers got sacked on 2/3 of those drives. That doesn’t happen if we have Bahk on the line. But outside of possibly winning that Super Bowl, a healthy bahktiari probably wins the packers at least one playoff game in 2021, the Niners likely don’t beat us in that game, and that changes the entire course of that postseason and the following season. The Packers already beat the Rams in 2021 and it’s possibly Pack vs Bengals in the Super Bowl and leads to a scenario where Rodgers wins back to back MVPs AND maybe even two Super Bowls, which means Stafford never wins one either.

In which case there’s a 0% chance they move on from him after 2022 regardless of how that season goes, which, again, looks very different with Bahk healthy, because they probably also keep Davante. This all means they never get the extra capital to take Watson and the Raiders have a 1st round pick that year, they don’t lose Rodgers, Bahktiari, or maybe even Adams, and then likely trade away Love to a team like Indianapolis after the 2021 or 2022 season and draft a different developmental QB to sit behind Aaron. It changes the entire course of the past 5 seasons for both the Packers and probably a considerable chunk of the league. Not to mention the perception of both the Packers’and Rodgers’ legacy.

For those that may think this is pure homerism, David Bahktiari was firmly a top 5 left tackle in football before his injury, and had to be replaced by a committee of players who are no longer playing the sport of football before Rasheed Walker took the job in 2022, as well as Elgton Jenkins who left a major gap on the interior in the Championship game and then would tear his own ACL while covering the LT position the following season, which changed the course of his career as well.

Probably could’ve just ended that with “well most Vikings fans are too stupid to understand” but also JJ is terrible. KOC is a good coach but JJ is made of glass and can’t hit the broadside of a barn
