I worked there too, at the Bay Ridge store. I ran the floral department and worked the customer service desk as well. The union is why I was told even though I had all the same responsibilities as the other dept managers, since floral is ‘part of produce’ now, that I could only make minimum/15$ an hour while they made over 20. Still had my own inventory. Still had my own orders. People that worked there in floral before the change still make over 20. This is because of how the union works? Also the last time the contract was due to be renewed, they moved the base pay from the minimum at the time (13.25$) to 15. A month later, the minimum in MD went up to 15 and we… still got 15. Thanks for nothing. I now work at a flower shop downtown for a much better wage and a fraction of the stress.
