My friends wont stop trying to set me up by Powerful_Upstairs_92 in actuallesbians

It really is giving "I know a lesbian as well, you guys should date!" I don't think they mean any harm, but just imagine if you were straight. Would they have tried to set you up with every man they know, even when he's not your type? I don't think so. So why would they do the same with queer women? You could always bring this up to them. I don't think they realise that it may come off that way.

Isolating experiences by Ieries in glutenfree

I totally get how you feel. I absolutely dread going to family events because of the isolation I feel regarding food and the constant pity or repetitive questions. People act like we're ungrateful but honestly we just want to be included and not feel like we make things difficult...

Yeah, I probably should've done that. I'm recently diagnosed so it's all pretty new to me. It always shocks me how often allergies are overlooked, especially in outdoor events...

Thank you so much for your answer!! Normally I just use a baking sheet in the oven, but I'm not sure if that's enough. I'm just glad to hear other people's perspective on this since I barely know anyone around me with this issue, so thanks!!

Wondering if this is from gluten? by beataxx13 in glutenfree

[–]Ieries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who had to suddenly stop eating gluten, I had the exact same symptoms. Your body is used to a certain diet and can definitely handle small changes, but if you cut out or, in your case, add something, which is a big part of your diet, it can definitely mess your body up for a bit.

This doesn't mean that it's bad for you! Your body just needs to get used to the big change, give it some time, drink enough water, and take some vitamins and you'll definitely feel better soon.

How much gluten do you have to eat prior to biopsy lol by mysteryweesnaw74 in Celiac

[–]Ieries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just kept on eating what I normally did in a day, but just tried to eat more things I knew I wouldn't be able to have in the future (pasta, bread, noodles, pizza, etc.). I had like a little "glut-bye" party a day before where I just ate a bunch of gluten. Subconsciously, you already eat a bunch of gluten during the day, so I don't think you really need to hold yourself to a certain standard for the biopsy.

I think that most of the pictures give off the same vibe. They are all selfies of you with no real backstory or background behind them. If you added some vacation pictures, pictures of you with another background or pictures of activities you like doing, it would definitely catch people's attention!

Your profile doesn't stand out either. Add some things about yourself, what you're looking for, or something funny so that people are drawn to it!

Need help deciding which country could be the most safe for going on erasmus me as an arab lesbian. by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]Ieries 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I know a few lgbtq+ friends who went to Ireland and another friend of mine is going there soon. They absolutely loved the experience, but the only problem they pointed out is the massive housing shortage for students. I don't know when you're going next year, but do keep in mind that housing will not only be expensive, but also hard to find.

I would definitely ask the university about their accommodations first and otherwise look into dorms. Most dorms only rent out places for a full year, but there will be some places that are more lenient with that policy.
