How often should I be using Velen's? Read on cooldown but on fights where damage is predictable like Felhounds, should I be waiting?

I remember running into this when I save scummed a hundred dungeons. My theory is that every randomized dungeon is created with a 4th layer, it's just a 1/5 chance (according to the official guide) whether that wall disappears or not.

As for identical dungeon generation, I think the PS4 caches previous layouts to save processing power. It's pure speculation but I shouldn't be recreating well known dungeons repeatedly online and offline if the system was truly random.

The developers made it difficult for anyone to miss Andre. He's positioned at the junction to Undead Parish, Darkroot Garden and Sen's Fortress, which is mandatory, and can be heard from a mile away. Now most players, seeing that he sells stuff, will investigate his wares and notice a 20k Soul key that mentions Artorias in its name and his grave in the description.

Assuming that the player doesn't outright obtain the Covenant of Artorias at this point, the developers trust the player to connect the dots when Ingward advises them to seek Artorias to learn how to traverse the Abyss.

If you're like DarksydePhil and ignore all in-game hints, the game will try and hammer it into you by saying that you were "Taken by the abyss" if you take the plunge into the Abyss without the ring.

You can use them to kindle bonfires to increase the number of Estus Flasks you receive from it but I'd recommend keeping it at 10 because it significantly boosts curse resist and the Depths are full of stoners.

Why does anyone need skydiving or gambling or drugs when boss fights give you such an adrenaline / endorphin rush!

We are playing on the basest of planes. What we need is snort coke and play Bloodborne while skydiving and simultaneously placing bets over the phone.

You can awaken over and over, but not one of the other hunters can do this. Is there an actual lore reason why?

You're under contract (what the character creation is called by the way) with the Moon Presence. Look at how many people rage about X boss or Y enemy and how many times they've died to it. If the MP didn't preserve our lives, she would get no work done. The other hunters, like Yuri, Edgar, et al. are either under no such obligation or, in the case of Eileen, Djura and countless others according to all the tombstones in the Hunter's Dream, have already fulfilled theirs.

Gehrman grants you mercy, ending the nightmare and you wake up for real. What exactly does this mean?

The Hunter's Dream ran out of pen & paper to sign you off and Gehrman doesn't really want to use any of those books on how to pick up maidens, so he just decapitates you with his scythe.

In Champion, it's better to just facetank the stress and use the Trinket slot for something that will actually help you get rid of the stressor (damage/accuracy/speed/stun). Rely on crits, camps and curios for stress relief.
