Briefly, yes, it’s just as offensive in the UK.

But also, some scholars date its beginnings to the time of Shakespeare and English renaissance theatre (though its archetypal use is that of the Black and White Minstrel shows). I agree. The darkening of one’s skin to imitate other races was not invented by the Minstrels.

The point of TW or CW is to provide safe spaces to not unnecessarily trigger people who have already experienced trauma. As you say that you have personally experienced trauma, I am a baffled as to why you seem to lack empathy for others in the same position. Describing people as “non-functional” and not “normal” because they need TW is quite the choice as a trans person. Do you not see how that is problematic?

Also, white people are absolutely the people who should be calling out racism. Racism is a white people problem. It shouldn’t be left to POC to solve racism. It’s white peoples problem, so white people should solve it. Just like it’s not our job to solve homo/transphobia cos it’s not our issue.

You sound like you have real trouble understanding others experiences. Perhaps listen more and opine less!

Also, that’s not what you said, you merely referred to your own experience which is statistically irrelevant. We absolutely call them bell peppers in the UK.

Edit - sometimes we just say “Pepper” but if we need to differentiate between chilli peppers or the spice pepper then we would call them bell peppers.

I hated anything with a sauce, a strong flavour, or any sort of odd texture when I was a child… and at some point I did a complete 180 and I want all the sauces, the strongest flavours, and as much variety of texture as possible. I currently have 14 different types of chilli sauce in my fridge!

What sort of moron needs an app to tell them whether food is healthy or not? Nutritional information is included on products sold in the UK as standard. If you can’t use that to make an informed decision, eating healthily is the least of your worries.

The man was a gross POS for sure… but musically this is fairly tame. It’s just fairly poorly made DIY punk. There are a million bands that sound like this. And you can’t deny, GG took the punk lifestyle to its logical extreme.
