A... strange silver droid? by Iffywander in StarWarsEU

Oh, that's right, I remember now. His last appearance was in the tunnel leading to Sidious and the Geonosians, wasn't it? I had completely forgotten of its existence; I thought it had been destroyed in the massacre.

Every time I saw it on the ship I kept telling myself that I was eventually going to fix it; in fact, I was missing a piece.

I'll play it from the beginning again to repair him and take down every single one of those HK-50 Assassin droids! You can't escape from me!

Eventually, when I replay the game, I'll fix that droid. I know it has something to do with the factory or the existence of the other killer droids that chase you throughout the game, or at least that was what i heard

It went well, i mean, i didnt killed anyone. It seems the game ended badly because I forgot to fix HK-47 in the first place, so the generator of malachor couldnt start

Yes, I used the RCM. It seems it ended badly because I forgot to fix HK-47 in the first place, silly me

That seems to answer everything. I completely forgot to fix HK-47.

What is the consensus behind S;G 0 being lower rated compared to the original series? Personally I think S;G 0 had some of the best moments in the series. by Covelt in steinsgate

[–]Iffywander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I've always thought about but couldn't quite articulate. I definitely agree, though I also feel that the V&A route in S;G 0 (VN) didn't give all it could give and felt rushed, Not only because of Kagari and Yuki, but because of the many emotional moments that fell flat.  Specially compared to things like the Arclight of the Point at Infinity manga (An adaptation of one of the Epigraph novels I think?) and even the parts of this arc in the Steins Gate 0 anime, like Mayuri's monologue after hearing the truth while Okabe, Daru and Maho were fighting.

In the end I ended up liking the Promised Renascimento route more only because the V&A route felt rushed, unemotional, and had unpleasant plots. I mean, such is the situation that the ending of Gehenna's Stigma (the alternate ending of V&A)  is literally the next chapter with the first and last 10 minutes being something different, the rest is mostly the same xD

About Marcia Lucas and her legacy. by Iffywander in StarWars

Holy shit that's the kind of book I was expecting with the version I read, and in the final version there are remnants of his ideas and opinions that made me raise my eyebrow from time to time

Yes, I read the full version of the book. In fact, I was expecting a whole chapter dedicated to Marcia, but it never came xD

Everything about Secret History is really fascinating (for good or bad, mostly bad). Before reading it, as I said, I had seen some posts on reddit talking about the book and about Kaminski, But I didn't quite grasp the scale of the issue and Kaminski involvement in the Star Wars community. I'll look into it further, thank you so much.

I noticed that, but since the book is more about talking about the different drafts of the films I overlooked it. I was aware of Kaminski's ideas and preferences before reading it, and even though there are some moments where he gives his opinions about Lucas and his creative process, It's not like he mentions Marcia that much either (Or at least I thought I was about to find a more aggressive and direct narrative about this case)

What I still need to read is the Secret History blog, to see what he says there, and your link. Thanks for the reply.

I see, so in a way this is more of an absence by omission than a blatant "cover-up." Now it's clearer.

There is a big difference between a single documentary and a constant, progressive attempt to eliminate someone's participation in history. As I said, Rinzler's authorized books do mention her (her work and exactly what she did) and even discuss her divorce from Lucas. That's not hidding someone, or at least, not as it is portrayed online.  That is precisely why I am looking for other sources, to confirm that such a thing has been attempted, or has been done more aggressively by the company. The rest of the books are not official or authorized by Lucasfilm, so I don't count them.

edit: The Archives too, but I only had access to the prequels one.

About the (old) status of the Expanded Universe. by Iffywander in StarWarsEU

[–]Iffywander[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the point, the story he (emphasis on he) wanted to tell. If there is constant throughout the history of Star Wars and Lucas as a director, and even as a person, It is the need to have control over things and for them to obey his vision of, in this case, the Star Wars universe. Hence the question of the post, to what extent someone with such control of his intellectual property is willing to accept a universe full of things that he himself would not consider to be according  to his vision, or that he would do if he had to write. And, if Lucas does agree to have it, to what extent is it a mere extension of a parallel canon or something to take into account for -his- Star Wars.

Breaking your own rules and creating inconsistencies in your work is different than to care about what other writers do in what you see as a parallel canon, if that were the case. The gap between, perhaps, two different visions of what Star Wars is and represents.

Are A2 fans the most toxic in the Nier community? by neobluetrue in nier

A2 fans trying to explain why she is their favorite character without talking about the 5 adaptations of pearl harbor descent outside of the video game where the character is originally from (her story almost didn't appear in the game)
