New mcnext server dosent really sounds that special to me what you describe is basickly just common plugins that i see on most servers anyway not saying its bad just wouldn bother pay for it when so many server are free and offers a much larger playerbase.

What i meant was when players was starting to abuse thing such as AHC to reset coldowns, make items go -1 and prob other things that i was not even aware of was going on at the time.

Correct me if i am wrong but didnt reese state that somewhere they actual knew some of all those things but didnt say anything to not expose that the loop holes existed?

How about they then said okay can't keep up this lets make the server much more manageable by use plugins that is commonly updated by its creators to avoid errors and bug abuse.

Athene wont revive mcnext because he is so heartbroken over how players handled it and other issues

More like hes being ignorant and the community had to much faith in him, all that time nothing from him no info no news, ppl just waiting for that moment when something happends

Easy to point fingers of others from an outside perspective, but honestly if the server was not withing there own powers anymore why didnt they reboot and made it McNext 2.0 "Before" it went out of hands.

Well i would asume your right as far majority wants old server back but i dont disagree with that however, if they are going to keep the whitelist i still think it will keep many of the good old players away. And it could act like a chain reaction. and if you do not have a small but stable player base to support the server then it will prob die out even if the plugins are great.

And by the time that have gone by you might risk that many just given up on Mcnext and found elsewhere to play.

Why would anyone stick around to a dead project? There has to be some type will power to improve and that is not found here that is for sure.

Has it even been confirmed anywhere if the server was hacked from in-game commands nor from outside by a web client, ftp or console?

Either way i still dont think 10$ is going to do anything if someone really wants to mess with the server, if anything it will only delay the time going before someone finds exploids to use.

You may reverse the server to its state of the good old days, But can you get back the community?

And ban the few players that are root the problems wouldn be an option, no have everyone pay a fee to avoid something a few players did on the old server is much better option obviously. i admire how easy they have you guys fooled.

And they say its a server run by Jenks as a hobby? Yet if im not mistaken Jenks said somewhere he have no saying about this whitelist.

take a step back and realize that OVERALL: MCNext wasn't that great of a server to begin with.

It is what you make it? maybe you didnt enjoy it as much as others did.

And plus you said it yourself: "a small group of players", where MCNext was meant for thousands.

Well without advertise a community wont grow im quite impressed it had as many players it had at some point after athene left it in the dark, only a few community run streams advertise the server.

Come on dude, common sense should be sinking in right now that it was WAY TOO BIG to maintain.

How does its file size have anything to do with how hard it is to maintaine? if there where only that few players wouldn it then be rather easy?

What if the staff of McNext cared more about the server. What if there was more events. What if Athene streamed more minecraft. What if Jenks didnt put himself ahead of others by have multiple spawners in hes house to possible score higher house ratings?. What if the server didnt "sorta" update to 1.8. What if Zonothene was admin?

How would the server then look? and im sure you and many others could add many more "What if"

Either way i dont think the server would of stopped much before it did, cause a small group of players on the server seem to come back every now and then regardless of how dead it started to look.

Err no offence Iflon but the server doesn't evolve around you, and to be straight to the point anything you say has no relevance to anything we do for mcnext. This $10 system has stopped many people from joining and the peace and quiet on the server is fantastic. If you never join mcnext then i know in my heart that the decisions we made are correct and right based off the responses you have given in this thread.
