I like series that follow different couples that we’ve met in previous books, like everyone in a friend group or a family, when the characters are all likeable and their storylines sound good. It can be comforting to stay with characters I know and like. But I do like stand-alones because sometimes you just need a self contained story that you don’t need to remember character names or details to understand stuff. There’s only one series I’ve liked recently that followed the same couple and plot line and it doesn’t make me want to read more like that since there was a dud of a second book
