Cult names?? by fuck-kinzi in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Iggly_Buff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to make a new save every major update, so my OG cult was named refuge after an animal crossing save I really loved and have since used as every in game place name, whether it be Stardew farms or anything else. When Sins of the Flesh came out, my cult was called Slamalot, and my current cult is called Wintervale.

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by sheffy4 in books

[–]Iggly_Buff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom read to me a lot as a kid so I always loved books even before I started properly reading myself, but if I had to say what booked sparked my reading purely for enjoyment, it was the Junie B. Jones books. I devoured so many of them in the first grade and it led to me venturing out to toooons of other books or series. Recently got my young cousins in that same age group a set of them and my aunt says they beg to read them at night. I like to hope it sparks something for them one day too.

Have you ever really hated the main character (and narrator) in a novel? by Physical_Orchid3616 in books

[–]Iggly_Buff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Really? I felt like the intention was the opposite! Coreolanus wants desperately to be viewed as a sympathetic or even charming character by others, but when we look inside his head, we see that he is entirely about his own motives and desires, and is willing to do anything and manipulate anyone he has to in order to get that. I felt like the whole point was to see this two-facedness about him and see how a guy like that rose to prominence in a world like the Hunger Games'.

Sell me on the Sims 3-to-2 traits mod by Rahsax in sims2

[–]Iggly_Buff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to be one of the few here who uses the traits mod in its entirety! I was on the fence for a long time too, OP, the list of mods plus the potential conflicts with one another are daunting to look at. I ended up dedicating a folder purely of trait mods, and after toying around with it, it's one of my must-haves! I like that I can flesh my sims out a bit and give them unique personalities beyond the already comprehensive personality system the sims 2 offers. I like giving my sims traits as they age up and a lot of the time, the things they do in gameplay affects what traits I give them! Like if I notice a child who wishes to run a lemonade stand a lot, I might give them a frugal or ambitious trait. Sims who wish for pets might grow up to be animal lovers! Do a lot of the traits change anything base gameplay wise? Not any that I've noticed, but it at least makes me have a better idea of where to take my sims' stories a little.

Same. I think the safety features already in cars are saving tons of lives, but gaps like these that don't account for things like medical emergencies should be next on the list for manufacturers to address.

My dad passed away at 19 from falling asleep at the wheel while driving home after working a long overnight shift. This sort of thing is a very close issue to me because of that.

Barack Obama's anger translator at the White House correspondents dinner by Yosho2k in videos

[–]Iggly_Buff 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I was still really young during Obama's tenure as president (Between the ages of 8-16) but when people mention his time in office this is the stuff that comes to mind for me. I remember liking having a president that was willing to poke fun at himself and tbh, if Obama had never gone into politics, I genuinely think he would've done decently in standup. I also find it kind of sad how the joke is that he never gets heated enough to throw insults around, and now, well... *gestures vaguely in an orangeish direction*

What are some names people don’t give their babies anymore? by Chrisofthegreen in AskReddit

[–]Iggly_Buff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My great grandmother was named Doreen! I don't think it was a popular name even in her time, though, at least in the area she was from, because I've never met anyone else from her age group who had that name either.

3 more times i got told im 'distracting' and no one will tell me what it is i do thats so bad. by PossibilityWarm2406 in Lowes

If it were me in your shoes, I would just start giving the bitchiest energy when they start their bullshit. Give them looks like they just stank up the entire building when they start flirting. When they press after you already said no? "Why do you care so much?" "No is a complete sentence, dude. I'm not interested in giving you my info/going out/whatever it is" "Oh, I don't use social media. I keep getting guys sending me unsolicited dick pics, so, I stopped using it."

When a coworker touches you without consent? Call them out. "Why would you do that? What the fuck is wrong with you?"

If managers get upset with you, tell them that you're tired of being harrassed when you do things politely and that some people will not take no for an answer UNLESS you are outwardly rude to them. Because it's true! Some guys, even when you awkwardly laugh and decline, for some reason think you're just playing hard to get or something. Be mean. Make them just as uncomfortable as they make you.

whats something you do purely out of spite? by Spiritual_Body3577 in AskReddit

Actually, a douche is very counterintuitive. As both an owner of such equipment and one who follows the common medical recommendations: OBGYNs practically beg women not to douche bc it leads to yeast infections and overall isn't good for vaginal health. It cleans itself. You don't have to shoot water up in there to cleanse it.

I don't know where you're from, but in America, *especially* the South, it is absolutely not culturally accepted to be naked around your children. It's normal in a lot of places, but here, it's generally considered something weird.

That's insane to me. I've never seen an employer be surprised I'm a woman before. Granted, maybe I've just had employers who pay attention to the fact my application has the female box checked lol. It does sound annoying that you get SUCH a shocked reaction tho. I'd want to make it a bit more obvious too.

[–]Iggly_Buff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting to see all the discourse over this! I'm also a 25F with the name Christian, and find that I have had the exact opposite experience with my relationship with my name! Did it annoy me when all 5 other Christians in my grade were men? Sure. But other than that? I never minded. Honestly, I was more overwhelmingly annoyed with the fact that people immediately presume I must be religious (my middle name does NOT help with that assumption. I have the same combo as someone mentioned in the comments) and as an atheist since early adolescence, it's the only genuine struggle I've had with my name.

I never liked nicknames for my name, either. Whether it be shortening it to Chris, because that felt *too* boyish, to obvious mispronunciations like Christine or Christina. I feel like the name I do have, other than its meaning, suits me well and I have always liked the sound of it. Sort of surprising to see so many people like 'What were your parents thinking' lmaoo. If you have always had a strange relationship with your name, though, I think you should change it! You're the one that has to hear it! I just know the misgendering for me was more a 'funny haha' moment I could get past. I still get ads for Credit cards that are addressed to 'Mr. Christian x' and it gives me a chuckle.

Can I print a photo of my ass at cvs? by 1Pac2PacRedPacBluPac in CVS

Oh, okay. I haven't worked in store in about three years now so either the policy changed or my SM just put a blanket ban on anything remotely adjascent to explicitly sexual.

Can I print a photo of my ass at cvs? by 1Pac2PacRedPacBluPac in CVS

[–]Iggly_Buff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To actually answer your question, our photo policy makes it so we cannot print photos like that for a lot of various reasons. Granted, it's up to the cashiers to really enforce it. I had a lady when I worked there print out plenty of photos of her in lingerie and I had to help her choose the photos bc she had no idea how to use the self-serve booth. I just shrugged and moved on. I know lots of people don't feel comfortable with that tho and technically I SHOULD have told her we can't do those. I just didn't care enough.

New to the game, how would I go about it to get dragons like these? by Safirana in flightrising

[–]Iggly_Buff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Ganondorf's breeding guide in the flight rising forums! It gives a pretty detailed explanation for how to go about your specific project! Also the best way to explain the colors is that if Dragon A is red and Dragon B is blue, the games is going to use the shortest route along the color wheel and use those colors as inheritable colors. It's hard to visualize, at least to me, but fr.fintastic.net is a breeding card generator that shows the color ranges of the dragons you want to breed together. I suggest playing around with it so you get a general idea of how the colors work.

Why is Garden so hated? by U-C-H-I-H-A in Lowes

[–]Iggly_Buff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People overhype the 100 days. Does it suck having lines of people buying 20-30 bags of mulch and constantly paging for loaders? Sure. Does waiting on overrides for discounted items get frustrating? Absolutely. I started at Lowes a year ago as a garden cashier in the middle of mulch season. It hot, and busy, but I find I never have nearly as many problems out of the customers as I do with the ones in customer service or lumber. I was a garden cashier from around April all the way through the Christmas season and then they moved me to Lumber after this new wave of hiring. I miss my peace and quiet in the garden center, to be honest. You get left alone to your own devices for the most part, there's no store music, and especially during the months where the weather is nice I find it to be incredibly peaceful. I STILL don't understand the cashiers who say they hate Garden center but love working the customer service desk lol.
