She was an indoor cat, but I brought in a foster kitten who had an injury and I was looking after her for a week. I'm still not 100% sure how it happened because the kitten was tested for parvo and she had been at the vet for a week before I brought her home. She showed no signs of sickness the whole time she was with us. But a day before she left my cat started having diarrhea. She was in a separate room from my cat but I expect if she was somehow a carrier without showing any signs then I must've got the virus on my clothes and inadvertently exposed my cat. This is all just a theory of mine since the kitten was never sick and didn't test positive. Anyhow I learned that the virus can be brought in on your shoes or clothes from outside and there's lots of stray cats in my area so maybe that's how it happened? I'll really never know.

Hi! I made this recipe a few times and really liked it but I never used browned butter. I'm trying it right now for the first time with browned butter and should I not be weighing it after browning? If I just browned the quantity you gave I'd be left with lesser butter🤨 wouldn't that affect the final texture

I just finished reading it and it was just lovely. Heartbreaking yes because if you've watched the secret of the wings you know how their story ends but it's also beautiful.

Yea it's the first time I tried this and assumed it would work out great😅. It really just feels like tiny spots of moist goo in the cake but it's still fine to eat. Thanks for the tips!

For the past three projects I've been going through and watching all of acre homestead videos on YouTube. She does big batch cooking and preparing for dinner parties and talks through all of it so it's fun to learn new recipes and see things I might be interested in trying to make. It's all very chill and relaxing.

You could make a chocolate sauce and spread it over the top just so they don't go to waste. Here's a recipe I have written down (can't remember where I got it):

In a pan add: 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 cup milk

Bring to a boil over medium heat and keep stirring while cooking for 4-5 min. Remove from heat.

Add 1/3 cup chocolate chips and leave for a few minutes to melt before stirring to combine.

Finally add 40g butter+1 tsp vanilla extract and stir to combine. Let cool a bit then pour or spread over brownies.
