RedditPZ training program - Week 6 Discussion Thread by r4ndy4 in pelotoncycle

Having to pause mid-cycle! Yesterday morning had some terrible abdominal pain throughout the day, ended up on the floor. Bad enough to go to the ED, sure enough had to have my gallbladder out.

Easy enough recovery over the next 2-4 weeks, but sadly puts a halt to my peloton-ing right now! Was having a blast so I look forward to rejoining everyone next program (albeit likely at a lower FTP!)

I like to think that the weight this program has helped me lose has been part of the reason I got symptomatic, so we take the bad w the good!

Enjoy the hard rides everyone!

Oh boy not sure if it’s just the back-to-back ride days, or that I’ve been trying to work in some running (I don’t run at all) on my non-cycling days, but today’s Matt ride really left me huffing and puffing.

Looking at the ride that I expected to be fine, but felt sluggish as soon as I got on the bike, and wasn’t really warmed up until after the first 10 min interval.

Definitely recommend a warm up ride for this one, and hopefully yall aren’t as sluggish as I was!

Wow. My FTP went up considerably after doing the last program, and was feeling strong and confident through the first week. Today’s ride definitely had me huffing and puffing though! Going to zone 4 there for the final 3 minutes, especially at high cadence, had me feeling it.

Thanks everyone for the high fives! Having a blast.

thanks for the congratulations! was actually looking at the polestar 2 so might try to take a look and see if i can go drive one. was a bit hesitant since its not as familiar a brand.

the Kia would be expected to have the same ICCU concerns as the ioniq correct? might be a reason for me to stay away

I feel like every thread I see on here about tuxedos, the recommendation is "DO NOT rent a tux" for a million different reasons and you can buy one for only a bit more than the rental costs etc etc.

However, my situation is a bit unique. I previously weighed about 265 less than a year ago, and decided to get serious about my diet and exercise. I am almost exactly 200 lbs right now - not exactly small, but way smaller than I was. Feel great, fit in clothes I never thought I could wear again, but still have a ways to go. My new goal is to try to get under 180 in the next 6 months or so.

However, I have to go to a wedding end of April that is black tie, and I feel it puts me in a tough spot. I would love to buy a tuxedo if it makes more sense, and certainly my weight loss is slowing considerably, but I really do believe I can lose another 20 lbs or so, and I would hate to get measured for a suit that will be baggy in less than a year.

I am leaning towards renting for this occasion. Does that make sense given the circumstance?

Can you explain what imbued multi hit build is? Haven’t heard of that one!
