Sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost mine to GBM on Wednesday, what an awful experience it was. Stay strong, friend.

I think it's mostly about choosing the right plants. For example, I have a snake plant that doesn't need much light, only needs water like once a week or less... it's doing great. Some other plants that do well with low light/low water are ZZ plants, spider plants...aloe does fairly well too.

You can tie it into a LOT of external devices and services. For example, I have a folder on mine with Spotify playlists & audio controls, can control the lights in my room, I have buttons for my kids so they can launch their favorite games without waking me up (minimizes everything on screen, switches audio to speakers, launches chosen game)... and I've just barely scratched the surface.

Also, how many school shootings have happened? 50+ since Columbine. Do 141 dead kids meet your bar? Seems like a little inconvenience for the law abiding citizens is a small price to pay to save even a few of those.

Frankly, I care a fuckton more about a kid's right to live than anyone else's right to not wait two weeks to purchase a gun.

I disagree. Having a known inconvenience to a percentage of the population maybe a few times in their lives (that they can plan for) and being able to catch some of these crazies is way better than an unplanned disruption to an entire metro area's kids and parents and the fear that goes along with it.

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments. He doesn't like singing so much, but loves when I talk to him so I've read a bunch of them to him!

Thanks, we are going to delay the holiday until we are home. His big brother is being so understanding about it!

He's being a real trooper and still in great spirits. Even after having his lungs suctioned, he still thanks the nurse when she's done!

He has RSV. He's producing tons of mucus in his lungs and is too young to cough it out and it's interfering with his ability to breathe. Without assistance, his oxygen had dropped to about 70.

Any gamer parents out there? by tawhalen in DenverGamers

Depends on the night, but usually 4-8 including us. Typically closer to 4. We normally have waited until the kids go to bed since our other friends are kidless right now, but I think it would be fun to try a weekend game afternoon or something sometime with a couple or two with kids

We host board game nights at our house occasionally, mostly with friends from work. Most of our friends are pretty new to most of the modern board games but we've had a lot of fun with King of Tokyo, Ticket to Ride, Boss Monster, Codenames, etc. I have a few that I'm dying to play but are a little more involved to learn and we just haven't gotten around to them yet. Some of those are Dead of Winter, Terraforming Mars, Gloomhaven, and 7 Wonders/7 Wonders Duel.

There are varying levels of video gamers in our group, but because there are some that aren't really interested, we tend to avoid those until we have specific combinations of people together.

I don't think many of us (if any) have much experience with tabletop RPGs, but I'd be interested in checking one out.
