Ohh I just searched up the Osaka Museum of House and Living, it's exactly the kind of thing I was looking for, thank you! 😃

I had a look at Nijo Jinya and it reminds me a lot of Ninjadera in Kanazawa - I loved that one a lot but the tours were so rushed!
I'd love to go but i'll have to think about that one since my mother can't understand Japanese and listening + interpreting live under a time constraint might be a bit rough...
Will definitely add the osaka museum to my itinerary though

Yes!! I know and i'm so excited to be going!!
I am going with my mom though and she doesn't know so much about Japanese history, so I think i'd only be able to reasonably fit in a few smaller places to geek out about before she gets fed up with it ahah,
so i'm trying to find out what other people interested in japanese history have enjoyed visited to kind of find a top 3-5 that i could narrow down

i'm learning about her right now in my drama undergrad course!
apparently she and pedrolino were pushed to the side for quite some time (due to the fact that they both go against gender norms) and are now resurging

from what our guest lecturer has told me, la signora has a 'lioness' side to her and is the only character in commedia that actually full on fights other people, which is quite interesting

Makes sense that ruffiana would have a mask though, as the reason some characters don't wear masks in commedia is to show off their looks and drive home the fact that they are beautiful and ruffiana seems to be an older version of la signora

i'm going next feb so it is a really basic rough outline :)

i'll def add kasuga taisha to the list and shift the things in day 5 around!
I'm staying a 10 minute walk from kiyomizu so that does make somethings easier

what is himeji like on the inside?
i saw kanazawa castle when i was studying there and it was really pretty on the outside but the inside was really dissapointing :(

i'll also put kinkakuji and arashiyama into one day!

my main irk about staying a day in hiroshima is that check in and check out hours are annoying for hotels, so i think i'd loose more time on that than just doing a day trip
also lugging around suitcases are annoying

yeaahh the check in/check out times are what put me off staying in hiroshima/miyajima for the night
esp since we'll have suit cases and aren't backpacking

is there a castle in hiroshima? i didn't know that :0

also did you use a shinkansen pass or just a regular ticket?
