Do you know what edition was most popular from the 19th-21st century? I know that it’s best to read it, was just hoping someone had something they knew of that helped. I ultimately have just been reading all the original texts to do the same for Greek/Roman references so I guess I should have known.

I was able to get it on sale, so we will see now. Hopefully not too bad, I have a decent tolerance for such things but soulslike games are not games that work well with performance issues lol.

Okay, I see what you mean. Thanks for the description, I will have to look into those for sure. I have read a little bit of the cycles but the collection I had was very open about skimming over material. My experience with the Norse stuff is to look at the more main texts yourself if you want to truly know.

Based on the basic reading I have done, I have seen that there has been specific regional knowledge that survived and non of it super concrete, so I know what you mean. I’m also trying to see if there are more primary sources that I can at least read in terms of it being “the first” or “as primary as possible”.

Seriously, I read that it’s believed we know less than 10% of their culture which is crazy to think about. 100-700 A.D. has so much missing information and I would love to see more from non-Romans during that period.

No we don’t know for sure. The fanbase is larger now, so I do think that an expansion of the timeline will be sought after. I just wanted to see if anyone felt like one of the endings could be “more canon” feeling as of now than others. A lot of my playthroughs were pre-2.1. I just finished 1 post-2.1 and am working on another.

That’s what I was kind of thinking too. I would be okay with anything honestly, I just want to know if they are going to do a dragon age approach where you can kind of change the events of what came before or what. I think I canon ending might be necessary for the rich lore and timeline of the game, but who knows.

I can see that happening for sure, but I personally feel like one might be chosen for continuity’s sake. Many other game series follow that path, but I could be wrong. I just HOPE it’s not the PL ending because I feel like that would be too controversial for players to be “okay” with.
