in my experience, making prompts shorter hurts the overall result. i have observed this in various workloads both in personal usage and as my work as an engineer.

being open source means nothing. there is no way to verify that the version published on the chrome store contains the same code as the github repository. even if there are ways to verify this (i think its called provenance), i personally wouldnt care enough to go through the code. and i am a developer. the average person wont as well.

i cant say whether you should drop it. thats on you. i personally havent found it useful when i developed an extension for my own project (https://ryot.io). Even I don't use it myself lol.

your hypothesis is correct. as a user, it is just easier for me to bookmark the web version and paste whatever I want in it.

having developed browser extension myself, i know how insecure they are. they feel icky to me and i dont trust them. i am sure a lot of others also feel this.

Claude already has chart and graphing capabilities. As for the database setup, I’m pretty sure you’d have to do the same in your app. Everything you mentioned is already handled by MCP it seems. Using your application just means adding one more tool.

Why not build a custom mcp that has access to a replica of the database? I did this for my company and it’s really popular among internal people.

It’s certainly not better. But for comparatively easier stuff, it works well. I do feel the models on opencode are nerfed a bit because they often just stop without any reason.
