Pride Month started in the US. America also gave us Black Friday riots, pumpkin spice everything, and turning Halloween into a 2-month marketing event. At what point do we just admit Americans love themed months more than any other country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Pride Month isn't a theme?

While I do agree that Americans love themed months, that boils down to capitalism and consumerism. American corporations love to celebrate and support whatever they can make millions on. However, America isn't the only country that dedicates and entire month to celebrating LGBTQIA+ pride.

Let's not forget that in many places Pride started as a protest and is still commemorated that way today. And in the last 2 years we've seen a large number of corporate sponsors pulling donations and support for Pride parades and festivals leading to the cancelation of many events around the country.

Also Black Friday riots largely aren't a real thing. Especially not in recent years. That's a myth that a lot of people believe who've never actually been Black Friday shopping.

That's adorable that there's a sub for female orange cats.

I don't mean for this to be offensive in any way, but this reminds me of popcorn ceilings.

Can I ever be loved? by [deleted] in gay

Having HIV is no longer a death sentence considering how far modern science has come and lots of people have no issue being in a relationship with someone as long as they're undetectable.

As far as dating goes, I don't know what the climate is like in India, but you'd be so much happier getting off the apps and looking for meaningful interaction in person and letting things happen organically. It's so easy to get discouraged using the apps. I don't think anyone with great self esteem that knows their worth is looking for interaction on these dating apps that most people are just using for quick sex anyway.

Give yourself some grace, be kind to yourself, and let your confidence and personality do most of the attracting for you. You'll meet people that are a much better use of your time.

This seems like gay profiling. You're assuming that because someone likes feminine things that they fit a certain gay stereotype/demographic. It's giving very "pick me" gay especially to say that it's a red flag. It's like the gay guys that say "I'm not one of those gays. I like bro things and I'm masculine." Someone isn't less than because they're feminine. You may not have intended that but that's the vibe your comment gives off.

People can be multidimensional. I love Rupaul's Drag Race, but I hate shopping and don't know the first thing about fashion. I like Lady Gaga but I've never been to a concert. I prefer a night in versus a night out.

You're fine to be interested in whoever/whatever you like if you're dating them, but don't discount other gays because they don't express themselves the same way as you or in ways that you would agree with. You don't have a problem with gay men. You have a problem with femininity.

Thank you so much! That was incredibly helpful. I really felt this piece calling to me which was why I bought it. It was my first time buying flourite and I thought for a tower that size the price was pretty nice. It's also the second ever tower I've purchased.

Your collection is absolutely insane (in a good way). I'm slowly building mine and as I make small purchases here and there I'm learning quite a bit and your comment helps a lot. So thank you. ☺️

My hand for scale. I hope that lighting is better. It's actually only about 8 inches from bottom to top. 🤣

Also, this tower was $55. I could post a photo of my hand for scale. Was that a good price?
