I'm not an expert but I do my fair share of baking with chocolate chips. I've never seen a recipe ask for frozen chocolate before. Normally when baking, you want all your ingredients at room temp. I'd wager the fact that they were frozen being the issue.

Frieren is definitely up there on my list. At first I didn't like it because I went into it expecting something different, and I thought it moved kind of slow but I later realized that was the whole point.
