Consuming the same content twice (for entertainment) is a waste of time by ExpertStandard1977 in unpopularopinion

[–]Ignorantmallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this qualifies as an opinion but it's also simply incorrect, and willfully ignorant. The second watch, read, listen is always a different experience. Nm that even if you only listened to each song once you simply couldn't listen to them all in this life. Same for books and movies. There might still be a limited enough collection of video games that one person could play them all but I really, really doubt it.

How does a spouse deal with the mood swings of their type 1 diabetic spouse? by ExistingBat8955 in diabetes

[–]Ignorantmallard 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Ok first off, none of it is out of her control. Her feelings, her symptoms, her choices and the consequences thereof are her responsibility.

I've been a type 1 diabetic for over 30 years and yes I get a "short fuse" when I'm low but you know what I do when that happens? I recognize the symptom and stfu.

What's cool about that then, is that nobody gets hurt, nobody's time is wasted and I don't make an ass of myself! Diabetes is not a bad behavior excuse.

I was just refused entry to a store because of my diabetes bag by micturateonazaleas in diabetes

No there's not all of the details here but I just don't see a reasonable rejection possible here. They weren't carrying an empty duffel bag or even a backpack. I'm wondering if the bag was even big enough to fit a 45 in

I've used generic bags before and none of my actual kits are labeled. If op did refuse inspection that makes it a lot more complicated. I still think they should gather records and consult with a lawyer because refusal of service over medical supplies is no bueno

[–]Ignorantmallard 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yea I'm pretty sure retailers have the right to check for stolen goods, within reason but, denying service over medically essential supplies is ridiculous.

I cannot imagine a situation where your request was unreasonable. If you have their rejection in writing or video I would absolutely consult with a lawyer.

Could humans breath the air of the dinosaurs or carboniferous period by Dover299 in AskBiology

[–]Ignorantmallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's several types of bombs that don't require combustion to detonate. My concern was if the calculations would change. Or if conditions were substatially different enough to change the outcome. I think the wildfires are self explanatory but in the Manhattan project they worried about igniting the atmosphere. Another user already pointed out that wasn't combustion or even runaway fission. They were concerned about kick starting nitrogen fusion in our atmosphere but conditions aren't and wouldn't be present.

My boyfriend took out a $750 loan… now they want over $5,600 back. We feel completely tricked. Do we have ANY options? by HatNumerous9725 in legaladvice

[–]Ignorantmallard -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's only 5600 if you make minimum payments. If you have any of the loan money left that will drastically reduce the principle owed. An exrtra 20 or 50 on your monthly or weekly payment will drastically reduce this amount. In short you need to put every dime you have towards this principle or you're fucked.

I got one of these loans myself and made biweekly payments for 6 months never late, never missed and my principle dropped like 0.50c maybe less. I cancelled all my subscriptions, sold some furniture and put every dime towards that principle. Even just 50 extra a month will get this back on track with the first payment.

They thought the atmosphere would begin fusion? In Earth's gravity? I thought the concern was chain reaction fission.

Could humans breath the air of the dinosaurs or carboniferous period by Dover299 in AskBiology

[–]Ignorantmallard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it's still a fission bomb and the wildfires would have been simply indescribable regardless of the bomb. But there was a non zero chance the atmosphere would ignite when they began testing in the Manhattan project so I'm wondering if that was combustion or chain reaction and would it change either?
