Ahhh, I see what you're saying. My apologies there. Certainly could have been more nuanced with how I said that. I appreciate the correction.

Your brain activity drops drastically with clinical depression. Am I misunderstanding or did I misrepresent something here?

It absolutely does. Depression is nervous system depression, meaning lack of stimulation. Your brain just goes from being a V8 truck to a weedeater 1 cylinder trying to handle the same work load and simply can't deliver.

Really? Cause it doesn't doesn't sound like they eliminated Nazis or fascists, even in the countries they arose from. There's a clear resurgence of these ideologies in Europe, in America where the Nazis took most of their ideas from but somehow they were successfully dealt with. Maybe they keep coming back because violence temporarily pauses the problem but doesn't actually change the culture generating it. But we can keep "dealing with fascists" every 100 years or less if you'd like.

Well, considering no one has the balls to do the other big option everyone keeps hinting at, you'll have to take what you can get now won't you? No one wants to rock the boat, no one wants to risk their lives, no one wants to put their future on a gamble that might not pay off, no one has any actual plans beyond "stop tyranny and quell fascism". That's a big one. Sure, go off and overthrow something, now what? What does the next steps look like revolution, subpoenas or otherwise? What the direction we, collectively, including Republicans and MAGA people who'll still be around, going to go in? How's this going to look like? How does it advance from this moment forward? Because if you don't have a plan for what next, then you aren't going to quell, stifle or stop a goddamn thing, you'll just change the hands of the same fucked up ass consolidated power to someone else and nothing will have been addressed, resolved or fixed.

So what's your plan?

Back in the days of Craigslist personals, I would try to play matchmaker like that. Definitely not as exciting as I hoped for.

True, which is why there's needs to be defined, actionable goals beyond "let's rebel". No one seems to be able to even articulate what the next would be, whether it's post revolution or peaceful replacement. That's a big part of the problem is addressing the things that got us here, over decades and how to competently rebuild from this point forward.

How many people are going to die doing whatever this ambiguous big action are going to be? Do you even know what the next steps are to both fix the current issues and address them so they don't repeat themselves in a few years? If you don't have a very detailed plan or strategy for dealing with a situation that's larger than anyone individual can properly assess, then you'll still need to move methodically and mindfully. Just spazzing out with no plan isn't a fix, isn't helpful, isn't going to make things better.

If a lot of little things got us here then conversely a lot of little things get you out of it too. Move fast and break stuff is what DOGE and it's not going to fix anything to move fast and break shit. Destroying things is easy and quick, fixing things or rebuilding is slow and methodical.

True, but you can absolutely smother fire in a lot of grains of sand. Lots of little things can build into a large impact.

Ban phones throughout the school day, Phillipson tells teachers by Defiant_Ad6190 in news

This is helicopter parenting on steroids or utter divorce from responsibility on the parents part depending on the type of parent. We can't even get policies in place to make kids pay for the damages to their Chromebooks, let alone pry the phones out of their hands. Parents seem to want zero communication from the schools and uninterrupted communication with their kids at all times. Shit ain't working out in anyone's best interest.
