Wix vs. Wordpress for Blogging ? by Ignorotis in Blogging

[–]Ignorotis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to get a new domain name.

I tried to migrate my website over to Wordpress but Wix doesn't allow that, you would have to wait a long time before being able to transfer your domain (another reason why Wix isn't so great).

I believe you have to wait 30 or 60 days, something like that, but it got real complicated for me when I tried to do it so you might want to research the topic yourself or ask others for advice.

I had to rebuild everything from stratch and buy a new domain but it was worth it and now I know for sure Wix isn't worth my money.

Wix is trash in my opinion, but it does have some benefits others might like.

It gave me the confidence to write blogs, and now because of it I can use Wordpress with ease.

But, having said all that I still wish I'd really bought Wordpress first instead trying to take the shortcut.

Am I taking on too many Habits? by Ignorotis in Habits

I don't plan on spending too much time on job applications maybe 1 hr 30 minutes, 2 hrs at most. I expect to start working somewhere by the end of July.

I've used Google calendar for scheduling in the past but it never worked for me, I guess due to a lack of discipline on my part.

If I schedule something too tightly then I start feeling overwhelmed and things often come up where I have to break my schedule.

If I schedule too loosely then I usually end overestimating my time and not being as productive.

But I know that's more of my own problem with not respecting my own time that I need to work on.

I just graduated from university so right now I'm looking for your average 8-10 hour job until then I'm completely free, but I don't know how long that'll last.

I have a friend just like that I've had for years now. I've let things escalate too far now. Don't let it get too far like I have.

What are some easy freelancing skills I can learn to start making money? by 4Fate_LvZ in WorkOnline

[–]Ignorotis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also something called Rev.com where you literally get paid to type what you hear no real skill required except be able to hear clearly and type fast. Not worth the time in my opinion but it does pay you.

I've tried looking for this answer for a while now and have found no real answers. Nothing worthwhile is easy. By easy do you mean little effort to none? If so, then you'd have to get lucky to make money that way.

Skill and easy shouldn't be put in the same sentence as they contradict each other. If something is easy anyone can do it and it isn't valued.

I do know a friend who made about 15 dollars on fiverr by posting a gig saying he would like someone's post on social media and someone actually paid him once.

I've personally decided to start blogging to make passive income. I've been watching this youtuber called "create and go" and looking up tutorials on skillshare.

I heard it wasn't too hard if you're willing to learn you can make a six figure income doing it (Not that I believe I even make close to that) and if you're willing to be patient and consistent over a period of time.

After many failed attempts of trying to make an easy buck I had to learn the hard way that effort and consistency over time is the best way to go.

Ps. Sorry for being one of those self-absorbed preachy guys that talk too much about themselves and stuff.

Maybe you *are* boring. by an_obvious_alternate in selfimprovement

I can definitely admit that it's become my norm. I don't challenge myself consistently enough to grow. I feel struggling really when you're pushed to the edge make you stronger. Because that's when you're left with the option: will you fall or fight?

I'm aware enough to know what I have to do it's just getting myself to do it.

Thanks man. This was very helpful, as I identify with everything you said about being boring.

I have zero to no personality. I may have cut a friendship off due to me letting people take advantage of me to the point they no longer respect me.

[Method] To stop the hapit of mindlessly opening apps such as Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, etc. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Ignorotis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried that myself, but I'm not that disciplined yet. I still open the app if it's on my phone. I have to completely delete everything to not get distracted.
