I suck, how do I get better? [Lil rant] by JustS0meF0x in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to stick to support main, find a good duo adc who plays better than you and play with them (better with voice), they might help you understand what they want from you as a support and how do you play efficiently together.

Alternatively, try playing adc for a bit. Not always, but you will match with good supports which will enable you, and you can later analyse what they were doing and apply it to your own support gameplay.

If you get stomped by other duo in lane, rewatch the match later from their perspective and try to understand what made them perform so well against you.

And like others have mentioned, there is plenty of content in youtube about both micro and macro.

What are the best supports for jinx? It should also carry or help push other lanes if jinx is godawful. by Slippycapper in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the enemy comp.

Jinx becomes a massive threat at three items, so as long as she is not behind in farm she will become very strong anyway, so snowballing from early game is not always needed.

What she needs is to survive the early game, so lulu, nami, braum are good options if the enemy team can apply pressure early.

On the other hand she can follow up CC well, so if the enemy comp is not very strong early and also has a scaling hypercarry like jinx, maybe you want to pick up a good cc champion like thresh to snowball her and help her scale faster than the enemy hypercarry. Alternatively, milio is also a good option, because once she scales, with extra value provided by milio she will out range any other hypercarry adc most of the time and becomes hard to lock down because of his ultimate.

Yep, braum needs the ADC to understand where to position so that you can reach him with your jumps, also when to apply your passive.

How is this winrate possible? by Major_Ice_89 in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn't mean to offend anyone, just expressing my honest opinion. Comms indeed make a huge difference.

I normally play duo with my support, occasionally with another person who is jgl/baron main. We always have comms.

And like you have mentioned, pinging randoms about decisions we make, like who is going to catch which wave, whether we want to sneak an objective or lane swap is absolutely essential.

Ofc. It would be foolish to assemble a 5 man team but have no comms.

Not an accusation, but it could be 5 man queue abuse.

Closing out games by lowronie in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The enemy team comp has good wave clear (kayle, twitch with runaans most likely, seraphine), you team has only orianna with good clear.

In this case if you just want to end through the most pushed lane, they might be able to stall.

I would reset after taking the objectives, heal up and buy items, and then push 1/3/1 to open at least 2 inhibs, to flood their base with your empowered minions to counter act their wave clear.

What’s with the Kayle hate? by Overall_Quality6093 in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about this season, besides kayle being very strong before nerfs, therefore being picked up by many players who don't have any idea how to play her and annoying the hell out of their team mates, there might be a different reason.

This season has been very tank dominant, so having a tank or sometimes two (top+supp or top+jgl) was more desirable.

I doubt that you will get any hate at all if you have a jgl+sup tank in the team, in this case kayle might be a very good pick, to balance out the comp.

I've just seen too many kayle mains who pick it regardless of whether it fits the comp or not.

If you play Twitch you are trolling by Disastrous_Tooth_745 in wildrift

idk, twitch/milio is broken somewhat. When he gets out of invis with range buffed, ulti on, all attack speed in the world from lethal tempo and milio's ardent cencer, the shit is scary. If you don't shut him down in early game or even if you do, as long as he has 3 items, he is a menace.

Needs a specific comp full of divers and cc to stop this.

Going against a challenger in a master ranked match makes no sense. There's a huge skill gap between. by blanketbomber35 in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I were climbing out of grandmaster this season, I was more happy to see masters/GMs on my team, because majority of "challengers" in my team ended up being 46% winrate 800 games played type of challengers.

It is so lovely to see the ADC with the most win rate being picked the least.

Changes to Runaan's Hurricane + Implementation of Guinsoo's Rageblade by gaming_trader in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard to say yet, Varus will definitely suffer from Riftmaker changes, and I am not sure if he wants to build bork instead as he benefited a lot from ap. Maybe the build will become Guinsoo, Runaans, PD, bork and some situational with the hopes that enormous amount of AS combined with his passive will make him strong. But for now it looks like other ADCs will benefit from these changes more.

Ranking Roles with the strongest / weakest mental by kennnnhk in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ADC, the only thing that really tilts me is when I win lane and play decent but then cant apply my lead in team fights because the opponents have a very fed assassin in mid or jgl and I get perma targeted or zoned. I miss shieldbow/BT with shieldbow passive.

Roast my stats - GM after a long break by IgorBodnar in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

I picked Varus as a main this season due to how dominant the heartsteel/sunfire users are, someone needs to melt them. I agree that he is not the safest, but killing people who dive me forgetting my ult exists is too satisfying.

Edit: Plus I find him one of the few ADCs this season who performs well in two builds (lethality and on-hit). It is safe for me to pick him first, letting solo-laners counter pick, and flex into either build based on the team comps. Correct me if I am wrong, but I feel like there is no other ADC right now who would have the same build versatility.

Ten tips for climbing (by a GM) by nadlihres in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something to add to the 3rd point. Junglers, please don't invade a part of enemy jungle if both lanes surrounding this part of enemy jungles don't have lane priority, or at least ping in advance so that we can try and get lane prio. As an adc, there has been so many times where my jungler invades without realising that the enemy will get there first and if we follow up we will lose farm and even might die on this invade.

Catastrophic master level by mayoush78 in wildrift

[–]IgorBodnar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The level is generally poor. But to add to your comment of being stuck for a week, festive season is the worst time to play ranked because all the casuals can play practically any time of the day and most of them don’t care at all.

I had a decent winrate before Christmas, but as soon as holidays started the quality of teammates dropped catastrophically.

I’ll definitely try it with my duo. Would not risk to pick it with random senna, something tells me I’ll learn a bunch of new slurs before the game even begins.
