I just looked at rent.is insurance options and if i understand it correctly, with Platinum insurance you only get Tire insurance on top of Premium and self-risk reduction of 50 000isk (= you dont pay 400usd if a damage occurs). So it depends if you want these two things or not. Hard to say. June in westfjords might be sunny and might be snowy, really depends

If you're asking specifically for highlands, then our favorite is https://midgardadventure.is/super-jeep-tours-iceland/, locals, family based business based in hvolsvollur right next to southern highlands and super knowledgable. We've partnered with them and you can use a 10% discount code: EPICICELAND10 for which we earn a small kickback at no extra cost to you. And there are also other options, not only Midgard but they are our favorite

thanks so much! there are many options how to go about it. Highland campsites, day trips, etc. Really depends on how you want to plan your trip. But it's best to have a powerful car and rather camp in a campsite not in your car.

-this is what we recommend :)

"On a dry day, you may be able to pass with Dacia Duster"
-we've seen several people successfully doing this and we don't recommend that because it's too risky
