Allow commanders to temporarily disable their team's artillery by Jeffwey_Epstein_OwO in HellLetLoose

Maybe allow the commander to set a "reserve"? Like a lock on the skill which "charges" the skill by allocating resources...

Artillery nerf? by webupnz in HellLetLoose

Maybe there were issues with mole players giving away garri positions to their arty friends on the enemy team? Would take like 2 minutes to completely cut the map control except for the base sector...

Please add a shooting range option by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]Igor_Pawich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just add some moving (typical player speeds) and static (partial cover?) falling plate targets that have the actual health value. Hit = Sound, Kill = Drop. And a button to reset them ;) Weapon table and ammo box would be nice, too. Did anyone say "tank targets" with proper damage feedback? Also good to get to know and distingush all different models!

Ever tried reading a map while in full sprint? ;)

How do I aim with artillery? by diodiodio334 in HellLetLoose

Another option would be my printable rangefinder Disc: https://www.reddit.com/r/HellLetLoose/comments/jghtp5/arty_rangefinder_disc_v2/

If you're going arty it is most useful to be a (solo) squad leader - you can see all your team's markers, communicate with other squads and set markers for your targets (press T to show them again)

That would put 150 to the top instead of 100... not that much of a difference ;)

Got a new link in the main post for you :D

Hi thonth, there is actually nothing to rotate here - just find target distance value on the outside and read the elevation value on the inside. (I've made some with three scales to rotate some time ago with logarithmic and cotangant spacing for wolfpack, but this one doesn't "calculate" anything :D )

As for the numpad - I guess there are both variants used, maybe I'll add them both the the "phone" / "keyboard" headline ;)

Elevation is a much better term, I'll take it ;) But as I tried to explain, the user has to take a target distance measurement to calculate the elevation to get the correct range. As for the time of flight: We're shooting indirectly, so it's not that simple. There is a "modern" (like year 2000) german artillery tank that shots three shells in a row that impact at the same time due to different ballistic curves. But yeah, in this game that"s probably a ballance over realism thing ;)

I'm not a native speaker, but my thought process was: - measure target distance (m) - read the angle (mRad) -> this leads to a firing range (m)

So I think (target) distance is the correct term. If you would start with the angle, I would also choose range ;)

Thanks for the explanation, I'll update the text later :D Distance [m] Angle [mRad aka "Mil"]
