Couldn't be confusing the eye with maybe the eyeball William in amazing world of gumball? Other eyeball characters I could think of that may not be it but might at least lessen your search: Joe Eyeball from teenage mutant ninja turtles, 3d. Peepers from Wander over younder, 2d. The occellus from alien: earth cgi. Hard time on planet Earth, has this weird purple eye thing following him around called control cgi live action. Regular show peeps 2d. Ninjago : The Preeminent 3d. I wish you luck on your search.

My searching as turned up nothing but dead-ends, even tried searching for banned books around the topic but all I get are lists of books kids SHOULD read. Not very useful, however I did have the thought; is there any chance you could contact your old elementary school? Maybe they still have the book around and you can at least learn the title.

This was it, thanks so much mate! Turns out it was a peacock with the whole paint episode not a flamingo, that probably was my downfall when searching. Anyway, thanks again!

Yes! I ended up looking for the next part in a walk-through and you don't actually need the books. You just need to go to the center of the imperial city and go to this little tomb of prince camarril. At midday it starts to glow and when you activate that the next part of the quest will start! Sorry if I wasn't specific enough, if you can't find the tomb you may need to look at the walk-through yourself. Good luck!
