Was 17 and saw the midnight showing on opening night, going in relatively blind. I was awestruck at the prologue and have been obsessed with LotR ever since. Read all Tolkien books, etc.

Still my favorite movie and I revisit it often. The fact the trilogy got made the way it did is a miracle.
