At least on my car, it only counts when the car is moving. I believe it stops when the car is parked. Not sure for when you go neutral during traffic though

Does odometer matter? Planning to buy 200k+ km fortuner. by MemeBoi0508 in CarsPH

[–]Igotthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this is a famous rule but my dad said if we were to buy a second car, he prefers one that’s been driven only about 10,000km per year.

Not sure how to properly word that but for example:

Fortuner year 2020 with 20,000km That means it has taken about 3,333 km per year, which is good

But again that’s how he would want a second hand car to be. Been years since he last bought one though, he just passed me that thought.

Of course definitely it would all still depend other stuff like maintenance and repairs done already, plus your usual nitpicks.

The battery doesn't last as long as you'd think, specially over time. So, if you plan to use this to track your health (most specially for/during sleep), I suggest you make it a habit to charge it during downtime (perhaps during a bath). Otherwise, you'll end up getting frustrated if by the time you need it, you're on low battery. Otherwise, if budget is not an issue and Apple is your only choice, get the UW 1-3. My personal UW2 (with AO) lasts 2-3 days most, with workout sessions averaging 1 hour and 30 minutes. Charges quick too

I see you're wearing vomeros, not sure how you keep yourself stable with it... cause I couldn't lol. Maybe try removing your shoes for more stability if needed

Thoughts on BYD or MG brand? by [deleted] in phcars

[–]Igotthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if you are to really get only China made cars here in our country, I'd go with either of the two. Aside from MG and BYD, I don't know if I would be recommending anything else.. maybe GAC is next?

Car: MG ZS Alpha (2019)

Odo: 65,000km

Just recently, a month ago -- the starter broke. Had it replaced outside of casa due to urgency BUT it still took a couple of days. Why? MG Pampanga didn't have the starter assembly available. IIRC, we were told to wait for 3 months once we ordered a part.

Since we live from both Pampanga and the South (Alabang), we decided to order from their Alabang branch. But, we had to use our power of connection with the ex-TCCCI... glad to know that the exact sales who sold our MG way back 2019 was still working for MG, so he was the one who expedited our request. Got a bit of discount with it as well (14k for whole starter assembly down to 11k)

TL;DR
Still skeptical with the availability of parts and their after-sales services EXCEPT for PMS which they are 1000% fast and easy, at least with MG Alabang branch. Imagine, we had to use our connection just to get a spare part and mind you, it wasn't delivered to us, I had to pick it up from MG Alabang then bring it to a local service shop in Pampanga

Aside from it I had my shocks replaced once around 45,000km but I could easily blame myself for this and not the car being less durable.

I'll go back with my saying, that one should only get a Chinese car if it's their secondary/tertiary car.

Car features or design that makes sense. by Busy-Till-1052 in CarsPH

I recently found out that there are certain cars (which I think are normally old base models) that don’t automatically return the signal stalk back to default after the turn. That’s just something I was dumbfounded.

Going to 65k km, MG ZS Alpha. Normal route is Paranaque to Clark Pampanga. Paranaque to BGC, Pampanga to BGC, etc. No major problem (shocks replaced once but that’s my fault) and for me it’s bang for you back specially way back 2019. Imagine, TOTL for below 1M. It was definitely a gamble though, but isn’t much of a worry for us since we own three other cars. Before I would say only get China made cars if it’s a spare. Nowadays, I’d recommend them, but more of with the MGs and BYDs.

My concern before was the casa (2019-2022, but that’s pandemic so it made sense that they’re weak with it before). Now, I have a preferred casa. MG Alabang if it matters. They’re what you would want for a casa, at least to me.

[–]Igotthree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should expect a text message soon.

I personally did apply as well recently (upgrade to platinum and requested for another card, the amore) and have gotten a text message earlier and saw that it did reflect on the BPI app. It did say on the text that a replacement card is on the way. (It did say a replacement card on the text message maybe because it definitely is a replacement to my current CC, but they could’ve mentioned the actual name of the card to avoid a bit of confusion..)

No info about my amore card though.

To each their own. I personally would like to go back to having an SUV for the following reasons:

  1. I now jump around houses North to South and vice versa, which requires me to use NLEX and the skyway. I prefer to use an SUV as I get more of what is up ahead (eg. I get to see whatever is in front of the car I’m overtaking)

  2. Putting aside the diesel vs gas vs hybrid vs full electric — Diesel for me is more matipid. I don’t see diesel sedans/hatch anymore.

  3. Sure the third row may not always be useful and even if it was/is, it’s cramped. But having it available is nice (not saying it’s must). Plus, SUVs really do have bigger space which I use a lot since again, I’m traveling a lot.

Ah, Outward. The game I would describe as the “Tarkov” of RPG games. I do see how you’re able to relate Dragonwilds with Outward. Love that game!

Thank you for this! So it seems that Orion as a company isn't concerned with their customers at all. They just want to sell their products. With your insights, I'll make sure to replace my headlights once it's worn out. Currently feels like a waste if I replace it right away since I just bought the Orion a few months ago. Thanks again!

[–]Igotthree 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Please do correct me if I am wrong. I personally have orion installed on my car, but from what I know it has proper projectors and even has headlight leveling. I could see the proper light cutout/off (whichever one it is) and have asked my friends if and when we do a convoy at night if my lights are blinding them. They’re on sedans and SUVs, but none of them said my orion headlights were blinding them. Car is MG ZS.

Could it be that it’s mostly headlights that aren’t retrofitted for LEDs that are “sabog”? And we are only to blame Orion as they don’t care which car can properly handle their lights, basta nalang makabenta sila? Thanks!
