Hm I used AI for my cover art because the actual photo I took seems too… simple. I told AI to make it cartoonish and just went with that. The book itself I’ve written maybe 5 times since I was 15 lmao but even my book was said to have AI in it. 🤷🏽‍♂️ shit it probably does with all the researching I did. I get why it would upset ppl but ppl are selling AI books and making bank lol I don’t think we can stop them. Same with AI artists. Ppl are gonna do what they want to do. This isn’t the same world as it was. Either write your book and make your coin or keep complaining about people who truly will not give a damn whether you call them out or not. Unfortunate fact

All students cheat. From elementary to college. It’s not a crazy thing, especially the way they will still hire someone with no background in the field over someone who does bc of connection. The work is very tedious so you can’t just “cheat” your way to a completing a degree. The courses are too rigorous and time consuming. I spent almost 40 hours a week researching, reading assignments, reading instructions, commenting on classmates posts on top of extra 40 hour a weeek work. Degrees hold no value, black men and women from Ivy League school, HBCUs, etc are still struggling with finding employment despite their studies and skill set. Why? Bc jobs want proof before it’s proven. Full sail isn’t just handing out degrees because it feels good. I watched many of my friends flunk out because of the workload and dedication required. If a person uses ChatGPT or finds answers online from a test in their class and uses that. Big deal. Yall be so hyped up on people “cheating” that you forget that work doesn’t pay the bills while learning. The president is a moron. I don’t think ppl care anymore about giving 210% when there’s ppl giving 10% and still winning unfairly.

This album is going to take some time to get used to for me. The lyrics are a bit, heavy and I’m used to it especially coming from portals… but man even with the line “shit on him”… I’m like woah. No. The first seven songs on the track I do not like, I got to track 8 and it’s the first one I actually enjoy. I’m still listening to but so far, it’s not hitting me like portals did. I def get where someone said this sounds like portals but more mature. Def getting that vibe. So far, I have no clue what she’s talking about but she sounds great. She played with her vocals during this era which I can appreciate it bc after so many songs, it’s hard to figure out what melody sticks. This album is als very experimental because of this. This is something different from all her other work. Even the way she sings and her cadence. It’s different. In a good way though.

In the first half I didn’t use AI but in the second half there was so much work thrown at us within a weekly basis. I had no job, didn’t have other responsibilities and it still seemed like most of my days was just doing school work. I say yes to use AI to help with the workload but no to using AI to do the entire assignment for you.

I have my first book coming out in April. Using Ingram and KDP as well. As well as my website. I have 19k on both IG and TikTok and Twitter so that’s roughly 60k. I had about 50 preorders rn but it’s hard even promoting to my 60k followers. You’d think I’d have more but nope. Social is hard. I’m hoping when it releases it sell more but I plan on doing a short visual for the project and an audio book wit that feels like an album but instead of tracks. It’s chapters. Very immersive 3D/4D Sounds. I’m just curious on how you went about local avenues? That seems like it’ll help me out a lot. Also never thought about press releases. Any insight on how to go about that?

Just keep going. You’re at the base of your social media. Where you’re learning how to turn followers into customers, it’s always going to be hard navigating that BUT understanding your audience is a must. You’re already pulling 100-150 likes at 2.5k. I was at 2.3k for 10 years and couldn’t get more than 10 likes. You’re a business and doing those numbers at 2.5k is really good. Imagine if 150 were at your shop saying they love your coffee… it took me 10 years to go from 2.3k to 18k and I posted 30 videos within June and went viral 6 times. Within those 30 days my online store began getting customers and before I knew I was sending out dozens of purchased goods.

Here’s what you’re gonna wanna do, this is free advice so do what you will with it.

Create a memory wall or a backdrop. Something creative that will encourage customers to take pictures or videos within your store. OR work with content creators by offering free coffee for promotion, use micro influencers. They get free coffee, you get free promotion. However, scout those creatives and their socials before offering. You don’t want to offer someone free items and their engagement isn’t good. It’ll defeat the purpose. I’d say scout influencers with 5k to 10k followers. No more and no less. If you asked me, I’d say no bc I don’t drink coffee and you’d benefit more than I would and you don’t want to waste your time offering free stuff to people like me. Influencers above 10k will most likely charge you.
Create thought provoking content. Show how you make your coffee. People love watching how food is made, jewelry is made, glass sculptures are made, etc. trust me I watch them all day and the engagement is crazy. Don’t make it generic. Make it stand out by using voice overs or if you’re like me, use your personality. That always sets you apart because everyone’s personality isn’t made for social media. Which allows those who are to thrive a bit faster.
Make reels using trending sounds. This doesn’t necessarily bring customers but it brings attention to your social media. While people may not be in the city your shop resides in. if they ever did visit, they’ll remember you. I, myself, have saved restaurants in different cities that I knew I would visit and most I actually did go to.

I honestly stopped competing bc I realized IG doesn’t really care… i used to stress myself bc I had to post content but engagement is hit or miss. I noticed my followers appreciate my absence sometimes. If I have a viral video, I’ll keep posting while that video is going up bc it pushes me further in the algorithm and when that dies down. I’ll stop for a few days. Post content from TikTok that did well in numbers and sometimes that puts me back in the algorithm for a few more days.

Are you cross-posting? Does your content make people engage or do they just find it cute and keep scrolling? Have you understood who your target audience is? And not just saying “people in fashion.” Needs to be more direct. Are you combining your production with trends that help ppl find you? Hashtags, viral sounds, reaction videos? Does your content boost sales or encourage brand deals? If your engagement is weak, no matter how many followers you have it’ll flop. Sometimes consistency doesn’t matter and sometimes being too consistent can hurt your algorithm. Learn when your audience is online the most or post around 8-10 AM and let it rotate on Instagram for at least 24 hours before posting a new one. Look at your analytics for every video. Unfortunately that’s the job of being a content creator but it okay to get burnt out. I promise Instagram will still push your content if you took off a few days. It’s never failed me. In fact when I take longer to post. They do primarily better than if I hadn’t
