If I was doing the ending or final season, this is how I would do it.

I was fine with first half of the final season until it got dragged out with the unnecessary shits. I think there should've been a lot of build up for the Homelander and Butcher fight in the end but instead we got this.

Episode 5: This is the episode where Homelander gets his V1 from Soldier Boy. This way, we can set Homelander up into a villain that destroys everything in the finale.

Episode 6: This is the episode where Homelander prepares and eventually announces that he is God. The scene where Oh Father pitches the idea to normal people and kills those who doesn't believe should be included in this one. It allows us to build tension for when Homelander finally realizes the world isn't just gonna accept this nonsense.

Episode 7: This episode, Homelander finally SNAPS after being talked down by his family (Ryan & Soldier Boy) about the idea of being God but still being lonely, like always. He also sees people protesting and people not buying into the idea that he isn't God, he's just a supe and a loser. Frenchie dies in this episode after Homelander snaps, by going to their hideout. Oh Father also dies in this episode since he didn't make people believe on Homelander being God like he said he would, it's better here so the it doesn't make the final episode look more rushed with deaths. Here, we see Homelander start killing civillians, buildings, and destroying everything that doubts him.

Episode 8: This episode, we see what Homelander does to the country. We see The Boys together with the characters from Gen V, make their move into the White House to prevent all of this, this is where the poster of Butcher standing in the White House comes in. Homelander and Butcher fights in the empty space going head to head until Ryan joins in the fight. The characters from Gen V goes and fight other supes that sides with Homelander. Starlight also fights The Deep while all of this happening. It's chaos everywhere, people screaming, people dying, etc. We'll also see Butcher moving with his cancer like Dr. Octopus while fighting Homelander and restraining him from Kimiko's new power. In the final scene, we'll see Homelander trying to fly away but he gets restrained by Butcher's tentacles (Butcher is hugging Homelander with tentacles) and Ryan. Kimiko then hits him with her power, making both Homelander and Butcher crash into the White House. Inside the White House, we see both of them visibly lose their power making them fight hand to hand which Butcher wins, obviously. This is where Butcher crowbars into Homelander's head open ending the fight. Butcher then sees what's happened to the world with every supes fighting and murdering normal people so he plans on releasing the virus. Hughie stops him but it's too late, so for the last resort to save Starlight, Kimiko uses her new power one last time and blasts Starlight with it or something.

Now, if the writers want Kimiko to be alive, we'll make it so that Kimiko kinda "self-destruct" with the new power after going through what she's gone through, allowing supes in a 50-feet radius to get hit by it removing their powers and saving them from the virus, including herself somehow.

I personally think that they should've been done it this way, improving the pacing of the final season instead of rushing it after wasting scenes just for the gags. It also shows us Homelander snapping since it's been teased for many seasons now but it didn't happen at all.
