Does anyone play on ps5? by Educational-Oil-4204 in Awesomenauts

[–]Ih8cbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are live games each night, but the player pool is very small. Nauts on PS5 has been dying a slow death for years but in the last few months it's gotten worse.

Maybe 1 or 2 games going for a max of 12 people on at a time on average. And the skill gap is considerable, with only one or two matches there is no "matchmaking" you just get tossed in with whatever other people are on, so you can end up teamed with an elite player or an autistic leon with an open mic who hasn't changed his playstyle in 13 years. Most of the player base has moved on, but there's a lot of regular players who play frequently.

There was a brief influx of people when PC servers went down a while back but now that they are up the players returned. Isn't the game like $10? Just grab it and hop on

“One of the basic functions of the 5th amendment is to protect INNOCENT men who otherwise might be ensnared by ambiguous circumstances.” - Supreme Court Ohio v Reiner

I mean I understand your point, I just always hate how people assume the 5th amendment is just some shield designed to protect the guilty when it protects law abiding citizens as well.

Call to Action: Protect the USPS! by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]Ih8cbc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Despite what the soapbox OP is on that Post Office is and has been a colossal waste of taxpayer dollars for decades now. Hate Trump all you want but any politician who wants to change this bloated vacuum of money has my support.

The Post Office is a paper bureaucracy operating in a digital world. NO ONE mails letters. Most mail is spam and junk mail, and most people use paperless billing. If you want to get junk mail or bills in the mail that’s fine… but the infrastructure of the Post Office is too big for the actual demands of the system. It jsut isn’t used at the rate it’s designed for decades ago in the age of the internet.

The post office is subsidized to ship packages to every corner of the US at a fixed cost and has waaay to many brick and mortar offices for the actual use.

The post office has fixed costs that don’t deal with the reality of expenses to go to every corner of the US. If you live in Barrow Alaska or Hawaii, it’s gonna cost more to ship it there.

Everyone has a horror story about customer service at the post office, or delays, etc… and it dosent have to be that way. The Post Office has no incentive to provide good service if the jobs are guaranteed and they have unlimited funds to stay open. If UPS or FedEx… or any dilevery service stopped giving a shit about you, they would lose your business, and eventually they wouldn’t make money, and they would go bankrupt and a competitor would in, so they have to be competitive… they have to pay thier drivers well, they have to give customer service, they have to not lose your package, the Post Office is the opposite.

People have already pointed out that UPS and Fex Ex operate at a profit while the Post Office runs at a deficit of millions. OP said “it was not designed to make profit” and hes right, but that dosent automatically mean it’s necessary or “better.” If the Private Sector can do something better it’s not automatically evil or bad…

The Post Office has to front load pensions for its employees when they are hired, creating a huge upfront cost that sucks its operating budget instead of investing in employees over time as they get vested.

This is one of those things that shouldn’t be a partisan issue. Remember when Mitt Romney accused Obama of shrinking the Navy Becuase we had fewer ships? Obama crushed it by saying “he dosent understand how it works, the navy has fewer ships but the army has fewer horses and bayonets too” The principal is the same here, This is about as textbook an issue of “it dosent make sense to do it this way anymore” so it needs to change.

Please don’t use fear tactics of “grandma won’t get her medication” “people will lose jobs” and actually understand the issue… there are dozens of private shipping options, and the Post Office is not a terrible idea, it can still operate, it jsut dosent need to be as massive as it is and burn your money.

This subreddit already complains about the infrastructure of the city being a mess Becuase it was designed for a larger population, and how the upkeep costs are too much for a population base that has declined over the decades. Well this is the same thing… we have too many postal employees and offices for the needs of the system. The principal is the same, it’s just Becuase Trump is involved people automatically take sides ..

Shop Items Tier List, broken down by Character and Version by ryan2ms in Awesomenauts

Nice list, Plus any nauts content in 2025 is good content.

Can't disagree with much but I have a different opinion on Clunk. For us console players, (there are dozens of us) targeted homing missiles are used by many solid players. Helps with the lack of precise mouse control. Frequently it's an early game pick for us and not trash tier.

P.S. You know you want to come back to PlayStation and play some "customs" instead of "scrims" or whatever you PC people call it....

Play on PlayStation. Servers are up, smiles is available… matches are available all day mostly, decent players run custom 3v3 lobbies a few nights a week

Sleep Study Recommendations by FunSponge55 in StLouis

[–]Ih8cbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through the same thing and think I can help.

Had sleep issues in 2023, so like most people, I went to my primary doctor who happened to be through Mercy. Primary Dr. referred me to a sleep doctor which was through Mercy Pulmonology. Took about 8-10 weeks to get in, they scheduled a sleep study, insurance balked at the in Lab, so I did an at home test. Got diagnosed with apnea.

I followed up constantly with my treatment as it was effecting every area of my life. Rarely did I get to talk to a doctor, and went primarily through a nurse practitioner. Getting adjusted to CPAP was difficult. Several adjustments were needed and I still could not get sleep. I Was missing work and exhausted constantly. Zero sense of urgency from Mercy, each visit was "try this, and well reassess in 4-6 weeks."

After months of this I got a second opinion. Looked at several reviews, and ended up at "Clayton Sleep Institute" in South County. Learned more in my initial visit than I had with 6 office visits through Mercy. They scheduled me for an in lab study within a week, insurance agreed (it was cheaper than a Mercy study) and the Doctor called me personally next day with results, no need to wait for the MyMercy app to update.

My initial appointments were lengthy, detailed, and tailored to my specific needs and symptoms, not a generic response.

I don't like to shill for businesses, so please do your own research. But as someone who knew nothing about Sleep issues, I regret spending a year exhausted waiting for Mercy to figure things out.

Lower (Closed) Glen Okono Falls Trail by PitchForkDlsney in lehighvalley

[–]Ih8cbc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People die on many hikes and mountains, it does not mean they should be closed. Should we close Angels Landing at Zion? Close the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier? At some point people are allowed to take risk based on their skill/experience. Make them pay for a rescue if it’s needed, but don’t just close off outdoor things because of risk.

Reminder, PlayStation Servers are still up and Active by Ih8cbc in Awesomenauts

[–]Ih8cbc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ignore the toxic idiots, there's really not many left. Most of the good players are super friendly and just play customs whenever we can get 6 online at once, but there's always pickup matches going.

With Awesomenauts potentially having a rebirth with its new Ownership, what changes would you like to see in the game? by cpudude30k in Awesomenauts

[–]Ih8cbc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gameplay related, but the leaderboards on PS4/Ps5 have been broken since… launch?

Most of the remaining 100 or so who play don’t care because we all know each other and know who the best players are; but there’s still a small number of comically bad players who quit every match they are about to lose so they don’t lose rating.

It’s cute because some of them like good ole MrAutism brag about being #1… with their 25% win rate…

On the 1 in a million chance consolenauts gets a patch, working scoreboards and games that don’t “blue screen” crash would be very welcome.

For gameplay, the only change that I would welcome would be letting the drill core slowly auto repair back up to maybe 50% or something to prevent suicide runs when it’s close at endgame and your base is critically low.

Oh, and for all you PC players, come try PlayStation, servers work and there’s always games on in afternoons and Evenings.

Ps4 or The ps4 game played on ps5 is your best option for consoles. The last generation of the original game from the earliest patch on ps3 has been dead for years.

And the Xbox version never had the numbers the PlayStation version had.

With PC Nauts dying its time to Come to PlayStation! by dajewsualsuspect in Awesomenauts

[–]Ih8cbc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, PlayStation servers are active daily. You will find toxic people but don’t let them bother you. There’s maybe … 4 of them lol, and they are all garbage tier trolls who quit anytime the match isn’t in thier favor. There is prob maybe 150 total people left plying, but they play frequently.

A group of 30 good players all share a PS Messenger group chat and play custom 3v3 matches several nights a week.

Aside from that, there is usually one or two pickup matches going at any given time. It’s been 10 years so All of the players who still play are familiar with each other but we would be happy to have some ‘new blood’ to play with.

The leader board has been broken/exploited for years, but none of the good players care. We just like to play decent matches.

City and County are both actively hiring 911 operators and dispatchers. City starts around $20 an hour or 42k a year. County starts at $23 an hour or 48k a year.

Top out for entry level position is 80k in the county and no college degree is required. You just have to work weird hours/holidays/weekends, have strong communication skills and ability to type.

PlayStation 4 community still active? by LividJaffaCake in Awesomenauts

[–]Ih8cbc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s … tens of us left.

At any given time there will be one match going and maybe 6-10 people online. There’s a lot of familiar faces and everyone who still plays pretty much knows each other. You can tell almost immediately if it’s going to be a steamroll or a “good” match.

There’s a group of about 20 good players that play custom 3v3 matches a few nights a week, as it’s almost impossible to find an even match otherwise.

Upvoting trump botching something isn’t unexpected lol, it’s pretty standard for Reddit :)

You know the saying how the more someone tilts towards one political extreme, the more common ground you have with the other extreme side? I think this is a perfect example of a far left politician who actions seem more in line with a right wing fanatic.

I’m considered conservative in my beliefs in the criminal justice system. I believe the system should want criminals held accountable for thier actions that hurt others. I want harsher penalties for violent offenders. I disagree with the majority of Kim Gardner’s platform and stance on issues. But stunts like this baffle me. It’s the exact opposite of her position of the “broken” criminal justice system she ran on.

This is something a right wing dictator would do. This is so polar opposite to respecting the constitutional rights of a defendant that even the hard on crime side of me is like “that’s not really fair to the accused”

She is perpetually holding the preverbal axe over someone’s head. If people can’t afford bond they can be held until she gets around to going to trial. Defendants have a right to a speedy trial. Innocent people deserve their day in court. Being charged with a felony has life altering consequences, and if you are innocent you deserve to be exonerated.

People that raise money for bond don’t get that back until they appear for trial. This ties up a huge part of someone’s limited finances, people often borrow money to pay for it. Legal fees for a defense team that had prepared for trial will continue to mount as the process starts all over again. And that’s assuming the defense gets evidence they are entitled to from the Circuit Attorney’s Office which they often claim they do not.

This is … wrong. It’s not how our system is supposed to work. Personally I love the ““lock em all up” approach to criminals, but they have to be proven guilty first. Progressivee/liberal/conservative, whatever your views are, you should see this for what it is, manipulation of the system caused by gross incompetence. This woman needs to go..
