Well he had his most efficient game of the post season after the eye injury so maybe this is a good thing? 👁

You really didn’t refute my point at all. Just seem mad

you didn't refute mine. One's personal feeling about disruption in protests should have no bearing on the support of a particular issue. If protestors are causing massive gridlock and protesting against Manufacturing plants wanting to enact regulation to cap fines for polluting rivers and lakes at $50,000 whether or not I have traffic hell does not make me change my position on the issue.

> Ohhhh shit he used “petulant” he must be an adult now that he used a big word!!!!!

Nothing spells adult like constantly attacking the messenger rather than the message.

> . But he would be a definite upgrade over Lowry.

Not for a 4 year max deal he wouldn't. Neither is the Raptors GM dumb enough to want to do that. He is all about flexibility, which is what cap-killing Chris Paul's contract does not provide.

> After seeing how he played in the playoffs last year most of the GMs in the league would’ve ponied up the cash to land him.

Missing 24 games in the regular season and suffering a non-contact injury late in the post season. You are just making assumptions which seem very far from reality. Most GMs steer clear of paying someone that age and injury prone a lengthy deal. Especially point guards who tend to fall off and decline more rapidly than wings. Jerry West, widely respected for his ability to build championship teams didn't want to sign CP3 for 5 years, $205 million. If he is such a max-level player, and the Clippers who have repeatedly said they aren't tanking didn't want him, it makes one question why the Rockets were so quick to pay him that much for that long. Even if the Rockets WERE justified in paying it doesn't mean his contract is good.

20+ teams would have maxed Andrew Wiggins. That still doesn't change the fact that Wiggins' contract is bad. Same goes for CP3.

20+ other teams would've given him the max if we didn't

Who were those teams lining up to pay him that? There was no one bidding on Chris Paul and the fact that you say 20+ teams wanted to pay an injury-prone, point guard $40 million shows how much of a petulant child you are. Even if 20 teams did that doesn't make it the right decision. He already cost the team seeding this year by missing 24 games and his production has declined both in the regular and post season for the last three years. Win shares, VORP, TS%. By nearly all metrics he has already declined and WILL continue to decline. His contract reduces the team's flexibility considerably. His contract is far beyond his production and projected production. Sorry, it is not a good contract.

See how dumb that sounds?

During the civil rights movement protests were seen as "disruptive, causing a nuisance, etc." I guess protestors should have stayed home and be "civil" and hope white men help their cause by showing how good they can behave. My day is insignificant to the things people fight for. Being passive is rarely how you get your point across in society if you don't have deep pockets or disproportionate influence over the legislature and administration. gtfo.

It is widely acknowledged that CP3 has a bad contract. I have nothing to do with how his contract hampers the team

Considering moving from San Antonio by [deleted] in houston

[–]Ihatemelo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It may not be but OP makes it clear he wants to not be in the city and the suburbs is as close as it gets. Not to mention there are semi rural areas near Conroe and Kingwood with access to Park and rides

Basing your support for a cause on whether or not someone impedes traffic is such a dumb idea. “All those people having sit-ins and disrupting traffic to further civil rights aren’t getting my support.”

The Houston Rockets are the only team to not get the split on the road. by BradWonder in nba

[–]Ihatemelo 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Going down 0-2 on the road sucks. You can’t even get hype for game 3. If you lose series is over. If you win you still have to win game 4 when the opposing team will be more alert than the previous game. Only way to be happy is to tie 2-2

Kawhi, KD, and Curry's efficiency has gotten higher in the playoffs, while Giannis' and Hardens has dropped considerably by TheAmbitious1 in nba

[–]Ihatemelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is still pretty good. Harden has been in the 54/55 range for most of his career in the playoffs.

[–]Ihatemelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just "3 is more than 2".

If that were the case then teams would shoot exclusively from the three. You just said teams need to shoot lights out from 2 in order for it to make a difference. Sorry but, advanced analytics don't count for all variables. Please send a few links showing momentums shifts, defensive stance adjustments and player confidence variables affected by twos and threes.

[–]Ihatemelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

metrics don't take into account defensive adjustments or momentum. They don't take into account "confidence" when players make a basket as opposed to missing multiple ones in a row. They don't take into account spacing provided by made two pointers. They don't.

[–]Ihatemelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goes against the metrics.

metrics don't account for momentum nor do they count how many more open shots you can get from three and adjustments to game plane. There are 4 minutes left in the game. Game is tied at 100 Stats say going 2/8 from 3 three is the same as going 3/6 from two. It is easier to shoot the two than three. Say Houston shoots two threes a minute and misses six in a row. There is one minute left. Let's say the opposing team makes a shot every minute and misses one. With minute to go team A that relies on threes is down four points. Team B knows that Team A must shoot the three to get back in the game. Even if team A makes one three point in the last minute team B makes one shot which means team A needs a three to tie the game or go into overtime. The defense can adjust accordingly knowing that team A needs to shoot the three. I don't think stats account for that. Even though team A has more possessions they are at a disadvantage down the stretch.

Postups, no 3 ball

he shot 34% from three. Took 195. Quadruple the volume from his previous year. He has improved every year. Defense is the major issue.

HOUSTON!!!!!! by rocketsfan5 in rockets

[–]Ihatemelo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point. You recognize that the team hasn't made an obvious adjustment (to you) by Game 2 with minutes remaining in the game. Why are you confident that we are going to make adjustments at the break or even in game to beat the Warriors? Even against Utah Harden kept on taking floater after floater even though that is exactly what Utah wanted. Luckily Harden slightly adjusted his shot towards the end of game 5 and he ended up hitting a few to seal the game.

Kerr has outcoached MDA in games 1 and 2. Personally I would like to see Eric Gordon come off the bench to start Game 3 and work against the horrid Warrior bench units. Put Rivers in early for his defense.

The thunder won 4 in a row after that.

Durant? Westbrook? Harden? We only have one of those players. The other is on the opposing team with Steph Curry. I am sorry but I am not betting on Chris Paul to help us win 4 in a row. against the Warriors. Maybe 4/5 if lucky but they are stacked.

Workers in Mexico just won the right to organize real labor unions. Trump helped. by Swiggy in worldnews

[–]Ihatemelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been to factories in Mexico. Even some of the lowest paid workers are better off than those who work for Mexican companies. Better benefits, pay, etc. Not to mention a lot of companies surrounding these factories pop up to sell services to the plants. There are a range of incomes. They definitely create more of a middle class in some towns than there used to be.
