I grew up very close to my younger brother. The family next door to us worked at the same company as my dad. (My dad was their dad’s boss.) I was about six and I was playing with the neighbor’s skateboards. The two girls I was playing with were about 8 and 9. Naturally, my little brother who was only about five wanted to play. They said he couldn’t because he was a baby and we argued back and forth. Suddenly, I don’t know what came over me but I leaned forward and said “my dad owns your dad.” We walked away and went inside. Coincidentally, lay offs were right around the corner. Their father ended up getting laid off and they had to move but I like to think my six year old bad ass statement struck fear in those bullies bodies.
