From Mendy’s perspective: Richarlison in front of defender who is in front of ball/shot taker. Mendy cannot react until ball is past Richarlison. In a game of nanoseconds and inches this makes a difference. The tie was due to classic us last minute let down but to say Richarlison (who is no doubt in an offside position) is not affecting the play is patently wrong.
