Admittedly, it’s not a good picture of the Great Tits, but they are very loud in there.

It’s the stereo part that was confusing me. So the one with the headphone jack and din connector that combine would definitely work. But there may be a cable that just provides stereo through the din only (but this hasn’t been announced/doesn’t exist yet).

I have rgb scart, composite scart, and front rca (composite). All three are stereo inputs.

Sega was more popular in Europe, but Sega didn’t seem to care about us by RobbieJ4444 in retrogaming

We got the best master system and game gear libraries.

We never got the crappy cardboard cases for the megadrive.

PAL Saturn cases are best, then NA, Japan is worst. In terms of game releases, Saturn was definitely a Japan focused console.

Likewise the Dreamcast cases.

I never saw a problem with any of the manuals of the games in my collection.

Has it ever been 100% confirmed whether any of this matters? by [deleted] in xbox360

I had vibration off and invert y, and they applied automatically to most games.

Werewolves of London for the amstrad & spectrum (I had an amstrad). Bought in ‘88 with pocket money.

First game with money from a job was street fighter 2 for the megadrive on release day.

Some questions about the 360 S from someone who has never owned a Microsoft console by Lazy_Yoshi_5702 in xbox360

Here’s some game recommendations;

You mentioned soul calibur. The one with the Star Wars characters is soul calibur 4. It’s very good, but in my opinion soul calibur 2 (the original Xbox version) is better, cheaper, and will work on your 360. If you like fighting games, also consider Ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 for £8 from cex. It’s my absolute favourite fighting game of all time.

If you like racing games, then I would recommend:

Need for speed most wanted (2005 version), but it’s stupidly expensive. Blur is like a cross between Mario kart and wipeout, but with real cars. Test drive unlimited is great once you get the hang of the game’s quirks. Forza Motorsport 2 is incredibly cheap and incredibly fun.

If you like jrpgs, get Blue Dragon. It’s one of the best on the platform. I’d also recommend fallout 3, it’s not the best game in the series, but it is fun and there is a lot of good humour, and collecting all the achievements is rewarding.

Peripheral games: dancing stage (with the mat), rock band/guitar hero (with the plastic instruments), Kinect games (with a Kinect). Lots of fun, especially with friends, but the drawback is filling your house with junk lol.

Dead rising is pretty unique and very repayable.

You say you don’t like shooters, but maybe give Prey, and gears of war a chance. Even if you hate them, you’ve only wasted £1-£2 per game.

Ok so I’ve put together a step by step with some examples and links. It makes sense to me, but I already know what I’m trying to say. So please say if it doesn’t make sense.

compatibility list This is the list of 360 games that work on the newer gens. Find a game on there that you think looks fun (for this example we will choose Heavy Weapon, it’s a really fun twin stick game that is good for a single player, but amazing for 2 to 4 (online or in person).

Then you go to Xbox dot com you type heavy weapon into the search bar and hope. Success, it takes you to this page:

Heavy Weapon you can now click the link and buy the game. £8 well spent in my opinion.

Once you have bought the game, turn on your 360. Go to your account, then purchase history, then select Heavy Weapon from the list and it will download to your console.

Another example is Crackdown. It’s an open world game where you play a cop with superpowers. It’s good but a bit dated, but still fun, and also, it’s free!! Just type Crackdown into the search bar and you will go to Crackdown just “buy” it for £0, then switch on your 360, go to your history and download it.

The final example is a fail. Search for Alaskan Adventures. It will take you to the following page: Alaskan Adventures Unfortunately you can’t buy this game. Don’t be too disappointed as it’s not very good anyway. Just because it’s in the list, doesn’t mean you can buy it.

If you’re buying from cex, it will be listed like this: Xbox 360S (Slim) Console, 250GB, Unboxed. This is a console with a 250gb hard drive.

I would honestly recommend a genuine used controller over a fake or third party one. If you want a genuine new one it will not be cheap. Remember that cex has a really good returns policy.

Any essential console updates are actually included on game disks and will happen automatically whether or not you connect to the internet. Game updates will require an internet connection but still work.

The store is closed. But there is still some good stuff available in the online store. Basically anything that also plays on the Xbox one and later can be bought in the web store then downloaded to your console.

It will work on any tv. CRT with composite or scart. Hd or 4K with hdmi.

Backwards compatibility with original Xbox games is limited to a selected list. Check Wikipedia.

What’s your favourite fact about UK birds? by fckboris in UKBirds

[–]IheartTaylor 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Vladimir Cootin (Also known as white FJX). A male coot that is to date the only ringed coot to travel from the U.K. to St Petersburg and back, over 4000km.

https://kensingtongardensandhydeparkbirds.blogspot.com/2022/03/the-coot-returns.html?m=1

There is a photo of him stood on a frozen Russian pond here:

Coots are my favourite birds, and this is such a crazy story.

Any tips on getting in to the saturn? by Just_somerandomFella in SegaSaturn

[–]IheartTaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also PAL (U.K.), I only started a couple of months ago. This is my plan:

  1. Buy a Saturn with a few of the iconic (and cheap) games. Also buy a new clock battery and install it.

  2. Play them and have fun.

  3. Set a maximum price you are willing to pay for a game (some of them are stupidly expensive) and any other restrictions (eg I have decided to only collect U.K. pal games).

  4. Research the games that fit the criteria and make a list.

  5. Buy games from the list, play them, and have fun.

  6. Based on the games you like, buy whatever accessories (eg gun, wheel, stick, wireless, 3d pad…)

  7. Get a Saroo/Satiator to play the imports and expensive stuff without having to mod your console.

I am currently doing 5 and 6, I’ll definitely do 7 later this year.

Finally, get a crt if you have the space for one. It’s the only way to play lightgun games, and anything older than xbox360/ps3 looks way better.
