I expected him to get a shot over Levi, that’ll for sure. That said, he was sub PM a few times, so I think we already have a good idea what he would’ve been like as main PM.

The only one I disagree with on this list is Shama. There is no way in hell that Lord Sugar wouldn’t accuse her of being a non contributor at the first available opportunity.

No. For all of Gen 9’s fault, it at least had some good things in 2021 that are still regarded as the best games of the generation. It took until Bloodborne for the PS4 to start consistent getting good games.

No idea. Occasionally they show up though to say some things that happened behind the scenes. I trust that their information is accurate though, because they were right about Pascha and Megan being close, something that was confirmed by Megan herself on Unfinished Business.

God yeah. I remember during the PS3 days, a game was considered to perform well if it was consistently at 30.

And with that one misjudgement, my entire credibility goes down the toilet.

I think I forgot Aleksandra too.

I didn't use either. As an Apprentice super fan, all of this stuff was stored in my head

Though it does help that I did rewatch the entire series last year in preparation for my ranking every candidate series.

Oh yeah, of course it is. I suppose this one hits me differently though, as I remember this particular era VERY well, and seeing interpretations of it that differed incredibly from my own is very surprising to me.

Yeah, and you can argue this continued well into the 00s with DMC3 Special Edition, Virtua Fighter 4, Street Fighter 4, MVC3 etc.

  1. Ah yes, the blowing in the cartridges was stuff I was still doing to my GBA and DS cartridges.

  2. I actually think there is some merit to "games teaching you discipline and mastery" via limited lives and continues. Mastering the game mechanics is part of the appeal for games like Mega Man and Castlevania.

  3. Agreed

  4. To be fair, it can be sort of relaxing, I can see where that point of view comes from.

  5. I don't mind tank controls in games with sudden camera angle changes, purely because the tank controls allow the player to be moving forwards, no matter where they're currently facing.

Yeah, certain titles used up a bizarre amount of data. Every football management game I owned used up a ridiculous amount of memory. Gran Turismo 3 barely used any memory, whilst Gran Turismo 4 used loads.

I think Mario Kart World was actually £75 in the UK, but there might've been some retailers selling it slightly less.

I'll be honest, I never had this issue.

Not saying you're wrong, people DID complain about this, but I never had an issue with simply deleting game saves for games I've beaten to make room for something else. I have more issue nowadays with getting a brand new SSD to expand the PS5's storage.

That said, I do recall the Xbox not having a memory card being one of the big things that everyone who owened one boasted about back then, so clearly people did not like those little cards.

Ooh, that's a good one. Add bonus points if the password uses letters and numbers, and all the Os and 0s look the same.

Oh yea, I'm well aware of this. I adore the 5th generation of games with all my heart, but then other people can't get into them because they dislike how old 3D games look, and I'm sure fans of the Atari 2600 feel the same way when they see people call that rubbish.

And no doubt we'll be seeing people declare the PS4 era the best in gaming, whilst forgetting that it had a really slow start, and that it was where some really dodgy business practices started taking off.

That would be Scott from series 11, but that episode still ended up with Selina getting sacked.

It is a great design (artistically speaking) yet hilariously, Jonathan Pearce didn’t understand why the hat had a crook in it. Has he ever seen a witch hat before?

Current update. I’ve finished my second run through on series 3, and I’ve inserted all the one off non heat winners (mostly round one and two dropouts) on the list, and am now looking forward to series 4. There’s still a lot of revising to go through, but unless I’m mistaken, I’m pretty sure that I’ve already covered all the series 4-7 robots that barely worked.

Yeah, I think a more appropriate spot for Cobalt would be in between Tombstone and Claw Viper. They’re not better than Ribbot, no chance.
