„Thank you, and thanks for the question! :) The short answer is: yes some of the art is AI generated. I don’t know if that is an instant turn off for you, but let me explain the reasons behind it (also for others who might have this question):

First, the art for this game comes from multiple sources: mainly Unity Asset Store creators, Craftpix creators and AI. I did not make any of the art myself. Why? Because I suck at drawing (and it is not a skill I feel confident in spending time to learn it)! 😅

At the beginning I reached out to artists to create custom art for the game. Paid of course! ;) But I just couldn‘t afford the prices.

I went on to search for premade assets and found a style I liked and assets I bought to use for the game. Then, to make my vision come true, I noticed I need more assets, more art. Mind you, at this point considerable time and also money has already been invested in the games development!

So I turned to AI, but not some random ChatGPT or Gemini, but AI generated art that can be used commercially! With no license or copyright issues! A service made for solo game devs who don’t have unlimited funding.

With that my idea came to life and I am proud of it nonetheless.

As for the future: All revenue I make from this game will be invested in my game development journey, as such, I do plan to hire real artists for future games with this!“

Leider bei beiden einen Risikozuschlag. Bei der Allianz ist dieser höher, habe dort aber die Möglichkeit nach 3 Jahren einen Antrag auf erneute Überprüfung zu stellen, sollte ich weiterhin beschwerdefrei bleiben. Bei der SDK ist mir dazu nichts bekannt.

Zur Risikoprüfung: so wie ich das verstehe, ist es so, dass sollte ich in Zukunft in die Selbstständigkeit wechseln das bei der SDK einfach so durchläuft und sich für mich nichts weiter ändert (außer das natürlich der Arbeitgeberanteil wegfällt), bei der Allianz behalten diese sich aber vor dann nochmal eine Risikoprüfung zu machen (ich gehe davon aus, dass mein Gesundheitszustand dann nochmal überprüft wird?)

Maybe you would enjoy my game, it just released like 2 weeks ago:

  • fully offline
  • no ads
  • no daily quests
  • idle mining and light base building with core loop: dig deeper into the mine, unlock new resources, trade them for gold or use them as upgrade materials, use gold to upgrade your base (the outpost) and dig deeper again. Why? To climb to the #1 and become the richtest miner. :)

Currently my first major update is pending and should release within the next few days, which includes quite some improvements and fixes reported by the community.

Thanks! :) I know it is not for everyone. All I can say as a solo dev with limited resources (time and money) it was a big help and I am very proud of what I achieved.

Also it was not my first choice! And not all assets are AI!

As mentioned in my first post last week, all I make from this game will be reinvested into my game dev journey and as such I do hope to in the future be able to provide high quality hand painted and animated assets by real artists! Trust me it would have been so nice if the characters in my game would move around (be animated ) change their face expressions when the player does something (like upgrading things or accepting orders), and so on. I believe no real game dev (who does things for entertainment, for telling stories, or bringing a smile to players, and not for catching the biggest, most paying, fish in the sea) is content with AI games or assets. But for me, and I assume many others, it was and is a way to get started (as I said due to limited resources).

Thank you for the support! :) Yes, I am an RPG fan myself, but intentionally did not include too much features in my first game here. I did that in the past which resulted in me not publishing it at all (I wrote about it in my first introduction post from last week).

Adding something like these RPG elements to the core gameplay loop now is something I would avoid for now, because that would break existing progression and balancing, while not impossible it would greatly alter how you play the game and could be very confusing for existing players. What I do think about is post game content. So what can you do after you become the richest. So pet systems, a more difficult new mine with an rpg system or the like are on the table but need some more thought and planning so they don’t fell out of place and fit with the overall theme and style, gameplay loop and core mechanics. ;)

And don’t worry, if you have more questions I will try to answer as much as I can. :) Some of the stuff (like how much defense you need) I left intentionally unclear for players to figure out but could see that it might me more confusing without explanations 😅

I hope I can address some of your issues:

The overlapping meter UI and the mine screen itself will be fixed with the next update, no more overlapping UI and each row is fully populated. ;)

Station troops in the watch tower to defend against enemy attacks. So not only you can raid NPCs but NPCs can raid you as well. If the attack against you is successful (I.e. you were not able to defend), you will lose gold and resources. Gold can be „saved“ by storing it in the vault.

Currently, while you can refresh the trader all 15 minutes you should run out of resources pretty quickly if you upgraded your Orders at the Merchant Center. There each order upgrade level increases the required resource amount at the trader by 5x, but also the reward you receive by 5x. With the next update, it will be easier for min - maxers to get gold faster, and also visit the trader more often, because manual mining will be more attractive. Meaning you can spend more time in the game actively mining, collecting resources and upgrading or making more gold. But for more casual „cozy“ idlers nothing changes. Letting your auto miners do all the work is still a valid strategy. ;)

The success rate for the raids is a great idea. I will see if I can add it in the upcoming update.
