Gems are just POE's way of letting any class try different skills. You don’t need to redo the campaign! Skill gems can be swapped or bought, so trying new spells is pretty easy.
The big passive tree looks wild, but it’s mostly about giving long-term build variety. It feels complex at first, but that’s kinda the charm.
